About Average for Mex. First time stop here. Service was prompt; food came pretty quick although it was not too busy for a Friday around 6pm. Served a gratuitous chips and salsa…salsa good. Ordered a chile rellenos and tamale for starters…blah! Chile was overcooked and had to search for any cheese inside. The tamale pork filling was tasty but the masa was too thick. My wife had the Fajitas Siesta which was pretty good mix of steak, chicken and shrimp and I had the Carnitas Dinner which was tender chunks of pork with fried onions and came with the standard ho-hum refried beans and rice. The tortillas we got wrapped in foil were sorta gummy and did not come apart easily. Good Mexican food is usually hard to find and this place was no different from others. Haven’t been to any Mex restaurants in CoMO except this one so overall I would rate La Siesta 2 stars…I’d come back but won’t rush.
It’s okay.. The service is pretty so-so, sometimes your food comes right away and sometimes you’re waiting forever. They used to have a waiter I would dread getting because he would be really uncomfortably flirty and weird, but I haven’t seen him for a while. The margarita specials are good and I like that they have a vegetarian option other than just cheese and beans (a cactus salad). I’d rather go to El Rancho or El Maguey but this is a pretty solid option.
One of my favorite place. I have never had a bad experience here. Everything I’ve gotten has been delicious. My favorite thing is the quesadilla mexicana with chicken and spinach! The chips and salsa are great… so addicting! My friends would recommend the grilled chicken nachos. Great drunk food! Again, the margarita pitchers are a great deal! Only negative thing I have to say is that the service is not very attentive. Even so, I have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for my food and drink. Great place to drink and eat with your friends! Great location to boot.
A miss. Cons outweigh the pros on this one. The short story: it’s a standard Mexican place but there’s nothing that makes it stand out from the tons of other Mexican places in town. A couple notes:1. Margaritas were sweet and not strong at all. But they were cheap, so take it for what it’s worth.2. Good house chips and salsa!3. Rice and beans were OK, pretty average (but I love rice and beans so I’ll take it). I had the beef enchilada and a beef tostada, both weren’t that great. The beef was very bland and had an almost gritty texture. I ate it because I was hungry but I didn’t enjoy it that much (and that’s what food is supposed to be about).4. Service was slow and pretty much absent. Food came out fast and the server came to our table soon after we were seated. To their credit, they did check in on us once but we always had to flag someone down for all our needs (ordering food after we needed time to decide, ordering more drinks, getting the check, etc.)
Like It.. I’ve eaten there a few times and enjoyed it each time. The tortilla soup is really good, I have never been disapointed in it. The service is fairly quick and very nice. We’ll go again and agin.
I really like everything I have had there! The food is great & so is the service!
Contrary to the opinions of the other reviewers, to which they are entitled, this is not typical Americanized Mexican. True, I’m sure it is to an extent, but not entirely. I love this place, as does everyone to whom I have recommended it. Try anything with chorizo, if you like spicier foods. Also, the owner is great. I had a nice conversation with him one day about where he is from in Mexico.
