Just like every other Mexican joint in columbia, just a tad more up scale feel and over priced food. The food is marginally better than most other Mexican places in Columbia, but service is just as bad. Empty drinks, low/ no chips, and nearly always a hefty wait for food once ordered. Don’t get a beer in a bottle here unless you like it warm, it’s happened a few times to me. Parking sucks if its marginally busy, and it always seems to be very loud in there no matter if its busy or not. I avoid the place, even if it is close to home.
Great spot for Mexican food!!! I am not sure where the people doing the previous reviews actually ate! But it was not at this place! Service was awesome, food was great & the atmosphere was perfect!! Even the other customers are friendly!! Highly recommend !!
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!. Absolutely completely horrible. I don’t write reviews, never have until today. The place was busy, that’s fine I can accept that but to come to our table a total of 3 times (one for the waters, two for order, and three for the check) might as well be self serve. Never got a water refill, never got my sour cream, my daughter had no silverware or even a water. I even asked the hostess for help, I mean it was ridiculous. There was no apology for the poor service. I would have been fine with a sorry I’ll be with you in a second but I didn’t even see the waiter to have a second and when I did he ignored me. I couldn’t even finish my food, because I was so disgusted, ruined the whole meal. Will never come here again.
Not really Las Margaritas. I checked on-line for the address of the Columbia Las Margaritas and it had a link to a coupon that I printed which they refused to honor. It came from their specific site but they said that they are not Las Margaritas, they are Las Margaritas of Corporate Lake and not associated to Las Margaritas. I would have eaten there had I not expected to be able to use the coupon but their attitude about accepting one changed my mind. All they would do is repeat and repeat we are not Las Margaritas. So who are they?
Disappointed. I expected much better food due to this restaurant’s popularity. I’m guessing that the popularity is based partly on the prices which seem a bit lower than some other places. I had the Shrimp Fajitas which were a disappointment – fewer vegetables than I’ve come to expect and cut quite small – dish was quite salty for my palate. To each their own. For my tastes, nearby La Terraza is by far the best Mexican restaurant I’ve found in Columbia. It will continue to be my go-to place.
The chips are not good but doesn’t compare to the BAD service. Many people on patio waited in excess of 10 min to get drinks when restaurant was not busy. We had a difficult time ever finding our waiter. After two requests for check without success we followed him to register. Woman at register basically threw our card at us – I assume because she didn’t like that we came inside to pay. I have only a couple times in my life left without paying a tip and this was one of those. Just because you have a deck with a lake doesn’t make your restaurant gold – you should know this by the MANY businesses that have already failed in this location. Jose Jalepeno is a much better choice!
