Still the best local drive-up in town!. Cheese zips with everything are so good! It’s my cheat food. My daughters like the dogs and chili cheese fries. We all like the root beer floats! Bring cash (or local checks). Eat in your car or take home. I was afraid a storm would blow them away last year, so I’ve now got the t-shirt!
Drive In Done Right. Like a diamond in the rough: a bit hard to find, unpolished around the edges, but worth it once you get there.Very cheap, try one of everything and decide which is your favorite. I like em all.Packed at lunch, often busy at dinner. Closed for winter.
Zip burger reminds me of the Hannibal maid-rite. Love them. Get a Zip burger with mustard onion and pickle that’s the orginal. Chile fries, Chiledog cold root beer all outstanding. Car hop taked your order never writes it down and brings your food. Eat in the car or take it home. Lot is small and bring cash. A summer must in Columbia. Kids will love it.
Throwback old school drive in. Chili cheese dogs and home made root beer is as good as it gets.
The zip burger was interesting. It was very salty but a good salty. Get it with cheese which is like a nacho cheese. Fries are only OK and the root beer good.
Love the cherry floats. Neat little historic drive-in restaurant, completely hidden behind another restaurant, across from Parkade Plaza. The fountain drinks are wonderful, especially the cherry floats. If you’re in North Columbia and are feeling especially self-indulgent, I recommend picking up barbecue across the street at Shotgun Pete’s then coming over here for a drink.Which isn’t to say the food here isn’t good – just that it’s simple, unspectacular fast food. The burgers are not exactly my favorite style, but one I get a craving for every now and thenlike kind of in between a McDonalds hamburger and a Maid-Rite, but better than either of those.
Yum. Love a zip burger and chili cheese fries. and homemade rootbeer…mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Don’t go often as I have to watch the carbs and sugar but boy I sure do like it when I get to have a treat.
