Food is great! I have an issue with the audible cooking timers in the kitchen. They are too loud and distract from the ambience. The restaurant is clean, fresh and very inviting.
I’m Lukewarm. There are a few interesting things about Noodles and Company. It is decent pasta and vegetables, the meatballs can be good, and while the machine is gimmicky their vending machine is capable of dispensing several different Coke products and Dr. Pepper with flavors like lime and cherry which i personally like. The downside is the sauce. While there are a couple of good sauces, they’re overall kind of bland. Some of them aren’t seasoned properly or based on very bad quality vinegar and it does cause some great ideas to ultimately fail in execution. The worst offender is what should have been my personal favorite, a whole wheat pasta dish with a vinaigrette that tasted almost like eating the cheap malt vinegar you’d get at a Long John Silvers.I guess i’d recommend it if you’re sick to death of burgers, but i can’t really advocate it until the seasoning of the tomato sauces and quality of the vinegar sauces improve and they completely rewrite the recipe for their unforgivably bland mac and cheese.
Almost good. Noodles and Company has a lot going for it: a relaxed, clean environment, good prices, and a great selection of options. However, my Japanese pan noodles and my wife’s truffle mac and cheese simply didn’t have enough sauce for the amount of noodles/mac. The flavors were very good, but their quantity was too sparse.Bottom line: Until Noodles and Co fixes their sauce quantity issue, this place is not recommendable.
Gone downhill?. I used to love the Pad Thai here but the past couple times I’ve been, I’ve found it to be lacking and not very tasty.
I wondered why they didn’t serve ‘noodles’ in any of their dishes! I’m still wondering! Beware of Pad Thai if you hate peanut flavor.
Quick and yummy. I often come here for lunch because it is usually cheaper than eating on campus and the pad thai is yummy. Usually my food comes out quickly, but the line is sometimes long if you come during the lunch rush.
All good all round!. My overall thoughts on Noodles now that I have ate here for the first time is that it simply rocks! A group of my friends and I (7 of us) came here for the tasting they offer at our location. You get 1 large serving tray of each of the ethnic categories they offer (3 Asian, 3 American, 3 Mediterranean). We got the following dishes with my personal reviews of each I tried ranked 1-5.1 being acceptable and 5 being knock your socks off good.Pad Thai: (5) Amazing, add hot sauce to really get the full effects! Do not skip this one if you like authentic Thai dishes!Penne Rosa: (3) The meatballs are way above average. The rest OK.Pesto Cavatappi: (4) Rotini noodles with a strong and tastey pesto sauce, sprinkled with parma cheese and parsley for bonus points! Delish!Bangkok Curry: (3) Very good period! Punch in the mouth taste unlike most other dishes you get elsewhere.Wisconsin Mac & Cheese: (3) Mac & Cheese on steroids. Bacon and veggie topping kicks it up a notch besides the 3 cheese blend they already use to make it great!Mushroom Stroganoff: (3) This one will take the dish you dispised in middle school at the cafeteria and blast it up to your top 10 fav list within a few bites.Whole Grain Tuscan Linguini: (2) By itself its fairly bland and flavorless. The chicken they serve it with makes up for lost taste. Adding salt and pepper alone helped big time. Japanese Pan Noodles: (4) A truly Asian dish with all the right balance, flavor, kick and synergy of ingredients you would expect in a genuine Asian style dish. Caramalized udon noodles rock!Did not get to try these….too full! My loss!Buttered NoodlesPasta FrescaIndonesian Peanut SauteStaff waitress we had was very helpful with everything we needed. Very informed about the menu and the dishes we had as well.
