Great Tacos. Columbia isn’t exactly a good spot for Mexican food, but Pepe’s is the exception. The burritos could be better but the tacos are by far the best in town. I highly recommend Pepe’s because i have never had a bad taco there.
Sorry guys…. So here’s the deal: For CoMo, Pepe’s is pretty good. But compared to taco trucks in areas with a larger hispanic population (i.e. Washington, California), it falls short of par. Don’t get me wrong, the burritos and tamales here are fine, they just aren’t as good (in regards to taste or value) as those from many other taco trucks. Bottom line: Acceptable. Just don’t expect the ginormous, super-tasty, cheap burritos of a typical taco truck.
Candied Tamales. I had a dream recently where I was eating a delicious candied tamale from Pepe’s Food Truck. It’s irritating. Now I’m going to have to track Pepe down and give him all my money.
It’s all really yummy but the tamales are out of this world.
Best Mexican in Columbia!. Pepe’s has the best Mexican food in Columbia. It is the most authentic mexican with delicious fresh salsa, spicy shredded beef burritos and fresh made chicken tamales.
Friendly folks, excellent tamales. After hearing so much buzz about Pepe’s, I finally got a chance to try them. I like to support local businesses, and was happy to give these nice folks a shot. I had a few tacos, the best of which was the adobada (great tender pork in red sauce, don’t miss it). I also made sure to try a tamale as I’ve heard numerous raves about them. Fantastic. Flavorful, simple, tender, delicious. I got the chicken with green chile which was great with some heat to it, but next time will go for the pork with red chile (I’m thinking this is the same meat as the adobada, if so, I expect it to be doubly-delicious).Tacos are small so definitely order a bunch if you’re hungry. For $1.50 each, it definitely doesn’t hurt the wallet.
