Tried Shakespeare’s Pizza for the first time today. I really enjoyed the meat lover’s pizza. The service was fairly quick. The only thing I wish was that the menu was easier to read for a first-timer. I probably would have tried the wheat crust had I known it was a choice before sitting down. Still, I will come back and enjoy.
Legendary, But…. Shakespeare’s is a spot you will either love or hate. It has very good toppings, good sauce, and the wheat crust tastes good. That said the regular crust is just a bit bland and the pizza does tend to get greasy. Some people may also not like the eccentricies of the spot, like the choice to have a lot of things be self-service and the choice of offering small towels rather than napkins.I am not one of those people. This is in my opinion the best pizza in Columbia, regardless of potential greasiness. Yes okay, it’s not a pizza you can eat cold, and the price is a little on the high side, but it’s filling, delicious, they serve almost any beer or soda you could want, and is locally run. Some people won’t like it, but if you can get past some of the flaws you will come to love the place.

Pizza should not have grease that runs off the pizza and tray. Tried warming up leftovers and ended up throwing it away because it was nasty. Crust was like cardboard and tough to cut with a knife. Way overrated for what it is!!!
