Proudly NOT from the South and We liked it. Like to point out that they now have a lunch time buffet and a Friday evening buffet, which I hope to enjoy on my next visit.they grasp the importance of a chicken and rib combination and offer a quarter chicken with St. Louis or baby back ribs. mebbe some day we can get ’em to use country style ribs, an alien concept to Southerners but common and appreciated in Michigan and the Middle Atlantic states. Anyway, the meats were good quality and delicious. they offer 5 different BBQ sauces, one of which is mustard based. Also, they grasp the importance of B.B.Q. being served as a meal platter, and we were pleased with the side dishes. Enjoyed their horseradish coleslaw which was not as salty or biting as I expected.the fried Twinkie was great, also. came out like a fried chocolate doughnut.

Not Smoked or Fresh. Maybe it’s because I’m from the South where we really know about smoking meats, but what I got from Smokin’ Chick’s wasn’t smoked or even barbequed. Every meat I tried there (three of them) tasted like it had just been oven roasted without even salt, and everything was very over-cooked. Nothing was remotely tender. I would guess they were all cooked about 15 degrees past well done or were reheated from a different day.*Meats*The pulled pork was really dry. The brisket was shaved and had a weird layer of fat that should have been trimmed off, and it had zero flavor. I could barely chew the brisket slices. And the burnt ends weren’t burnt at all, just giant cubes of fatty tasteless meat that weren’t even brown.*Sides*I will say that the coleslaw was especially good though. I would return just to order a large side of that. I also ordered the cheesy potatoes, which I watched the guy make with deep-fried potato cubes, shredded cheese, and Campbell’s cream of mushroom condensed soup. I’m not sure why that side cost an extra $1.50, but it was pretty good too. The onion rings there are frozen (I asked), so I skipped those completely.*Service*I had take out, but the woman who took my order was friendly and helpful, and the man cooking was very nice as well and kind of fun to watch cook as you could tell he enjoyed it.

Good pulled pork. Went for the first time (dined in) on a Friday night. The place was clean and nice, the waitress prompt and friendly. We both got pulled pork sandwiches, they were great! I usually like my BBQ with more smoke flavor but the pork was extremely moist and tender and the selection of sauces great, so I didn’t mind the lacking smoke flavor at all. I will definitely be back!

Good food – But the service sometimes…. The food is great! They have really good smoked chicken sandwichs and their bbq sauce is really good too. Their prices are a little steep for appetizers (which seem more like they should be side options), but other than that, I don’t have any complaints about their food. Their service, on the other hand, can be hit or miss. I went in on a Friday when they were busy and the server was great. She was really attentive and pleasant. I called in an order on Sunday and the girl working (white girl with trashy-looking dreads) was SUPER rude when I called in my order (somehow a sandwich with no sides cost me more than a sandwich with sides…) and was even more rude when I went in to pick it up and pay. I don’t know if her parents own the restaurant or why else she would be working there, but I have never had such a snotty person take my money.
