The breakfast menu offered an exciting variety of options. The execution was lacking. I would give it another chance, but left dissatisfied this morning.
Delicious!!. I’ve been coming here since they first opened. I absolutely love their cupcakes!!! I always try to get a different flavor every time I go. Their tiramisu cupcake is probably the best one in their lineup. It’s so light and perfect. One complaint I do have is sometimes the icing is too dense and heavy, however I just solve that problem by not eating all the icing. No big deal. I don’t know what past commenters have been reviewing, but the cupcakes are never dry at all and I have had friendly service every single time I’ve been in there.
Not Tasty. I was extremely disappointed in the taste of the cupcake. The cake itself was extremely dry. I’m not sure if it was set out for too long or what the problem was. The icing on the red velvet tasted like a can of store bought icing! Very disappointed! I was very hopeful and excited to try these but extremely disappointed. unlike the other reviews I did have good service!
Best cupcakes ever!. Was just there yesterday for the tasting for the cupcakes for my wedding, and they were fantastic. They haven’t been open for very long (only 6 months) and I think they’ve knocked out any kicks that may have been an issue before. They don’t use artificial ingredients, and when we told them we wanted a coffee cupcake the pastry chef MORE then delivered! Everything I have had there has been great, but my favorites are the mojito and the tiramisu cupcakes. The tiramisu has all the flavor and texture of a great tiramisu, super light and creamy. I also like the lemon blueberry cupcake, a lemon cupcake with blueberries baked and a lemon icing made with real lemon juice and lemon zest. They also do other desserts, like cannolis and strawberry cheesecake (which is whole strawberries stuffed with cheesecake filling!) Hoping to go in some time and try their maple bacon cupcake.
Really bad.. I bought a white wedding cupcake (vanilla cake, butter cream icing). The cake was very dense and dry and had some sort of artificial ‘off’ taste that was revolting . The icing tasted like a stick of salted butter. The cupcake was inedible and a complete waste of money.
I have went twice to the velvet cupcake now, once with my sister and kids and once for my friends birthday which was fairly early in the morning. About 11. When I went with my sister on a Saturday afternoon, the cupcakes were OK but very dry and didnt taste gourmet. However, when I went with my friend for her birthday the cupcakes were awesome and very moist! I am not sure if you changed your recipe, have different bakers or simply the ones on Saturday were left out too long but I think this problem needs to be fixed bc so many customers are missing out bc of the one time they went and it was terrible. I didn’t think Id ever go back but my friend talked to me into going. Perhaps it is better to go early in the day. As for the service, I think that it was mediocre. She explained the flavors but at a cupcake shop I feel the employees should be just as fun and up beat as the business itself but instead they were very drab.
Cupcakes dry, unfriendly service.. The first thing I noticed about the store was the insane amount of perfume the clerks were wearing. The scent was so intense that I could not even tell the shop was a bakery. The clerks were rather young, and talking to each-other. They made me wait at the register until their conversation was over. I ordered a double chocolate and a smores cupcake. The icing was okay, but it tasted powdered sugar based. I prefer a creamier or butter based icing. The cake itself was extremely dry and had a sandy consistency. I’m not sure if they were displayed too long, or if the display is too hot or dry.I will go back again, but only to see if they have improved. If the place still smells like a perfume store and the cupcakes are overly dry, I’ll cross this place off my list.
