Overpriced, small portions, meh food.. Way overpriced. $2.50 for 3 crab rangoon of similar quality that you can get for free with a cheap entree at any chinese restaurant. A few pieces of tough meat which tasted like round steak over a bed of what was essentially wide egg noodles on my beef dish. The 6 or 7 tables which comprise the place are so close together you can’t help but hear everyone else’s conversations and they yours. don’t know how they’re still in business.
Check their prices. I should have taken a picture of the small portions I received for my specialty for $18. I ordered the Nam Tok Beef and it was chewy and flavorless. The rice was bland and small portioned. I don’t know what others are experiencing that is amazing, but I did get that same experience. I am no Thai connoisseur, but I have lived in some major cities and had better food for better prices.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Columbia. I’ve tried all the rest and this one is clearly the best for three reasons:1. Fresh ingredients. The vegetables are always bright and crisp. You will not find wilted brownish canned bean sprouts or frozen broccoli here.2. Authentic taste. Pad Thai is supposed to be prepared with a sauce made with tamarind, not a generic sweet and sour sauce. This Pad Thai is authentic. Flavors are multi-layered and evocative without being pretentious, busy or overwhelming.3. The chef/owner is passionate about his food. Each dish is prepared with care and it shows. The chef is responsive if you have special dietary needs and will make recommendations for vegetarians and vegans and where possible adjust a dish as needed. Be aware that fish sauce is a staple in Thai cooking and will appear in most dishes. If you are vegetarian or vegan, be very clear that you cannot eat fish sauce and you’ll be fine.
I do not understand how anyone can enjoy this place!. I have eaten here three times (at lunch), and it has been terrible every time. I have complained each time and been given a different excuses as to why I should try again next time. The last excuse when my shrimp was completely overcooked and rubbery was that they are training a new cook. But there was no explanation as to why the cook left out half the ingredients described in the menu … Bottomline: ALWAYS overpriced and NEVER EVER delicious! So disappointed in these review that I feel are not at all honest or truthful.
Worst Pad Thai ever!. I was very disappointed when we recently ordered takeout during a special. The Pad Thai I received was dry and tasteless. The chicken was tough and dry. I had to throw most of it away. The egg rolls were good. There were five in an order and they had a light, crisp wrapper. My husband decided to try something else the next day. After waiting an hour and a half, we discovered that he had brought home two more orders of Pad Thai! I thought the first time may have been a fluke since they were highly rated but this Pad Thai was even worse than the first order. Again, it was like eating plain rice noodles with some tough, overcooked meat thrown in. It was inedible.
This is it!. This place is great! I love the loft space and the food is wonderful. It is rarely crowded and the staff is polite. This might sound weird, but my mom always told me not to go to Thai restaurant if you don’t see any Thai people eating there. This place is loaded with ALL kinds of people. My partner who had never had Thai before, totally fell in love with this place! Great choice!
Waited 45 minutes longer than was told for my takeout while I watched as 3 tables seated after me ordered and got their food. The food was not worth the wait.
