Great dinner everytime. The food here is really flavored and seasoned well, but for me, their salad is the best part. I could just eat that alone and be happy. We never pass up a chance to eat at Carmens.

First time. This was my first time at Carmen’s Cafe. The staff was very attentive. I have been living in KC for 6 years now and I had always avoided this restaurant simply because of its outward appearance. It looks like a dive bar from the outside. I had no idea it was a nice Italian place. I had a stuffed artichoke which could have used a few more minutes cooking. I also had a simple pasta dish with garlic and olive oil. I was pleased with my pasta choice. My friend had a lobster dish that she loved. I also had the pistachio dessert, it was very good. The service was great! I think I will go back to this restaurant to try some of the other dishes on the menu.
Stuffed Artichokes!. Real italian stuffed artichokes are hard to come by in Kansas City! They are wonderful. I love coming here just for that. Their pastas are also wonderful. For whatever reason, I opt for ‘boring’ here and eat their chicken alfredo. It’s a homemade sauce, and it is amazing. Love going here! We always have wonderful service!

WOW!!!!. This was our first visit to Carmen’s in Brookside, it certainly won’t be our last. It’s a quaint little place, nothing overly fancy but very clean. It reminded us of a great little italian restaurant we went to in San Francisco. The noise level was such that we could actually carry on a conversation.The wait staff were wonderful. Attentive without being annoying. We never had to ask for a thing. When drinks were low, a refill was on the way. When the bread was gone (which by the way was amazing), it was replaced.The salads were delicious and fresh and the entrees were just outstanding. We could not stop commenting on how wonderful everything was. And talk about bang for the buck!!! Pricing was more than reasonable for what we ordered. Overall, it was a fantastic way for a first visit to go. We will go back without a doubt. If you are in the mood for amazing italian food the wont break the bank you have to give Carmen’s a try.
