Very good Italian, service was excellent. We were surprised by our bill in a good way as the Monday special happened to be what we ordered, Pasta. I had Lasagne, and the wife had rigatoni in a tomato vodka cream sauce. Salads were excellent as was the bread. I will be going back to Carmens. Oh yeah, nice ambiance as well!
Best Italian in KC. I can’t understand how Carmen’s does not have a 100% rating. It is simply the best Italian restaurant in Kansas City and it might also be the best overall restaurant in Kansas City. The food is absolutely delicious and it’s reasonably priced as well. Try the shrimp Diablo appetizer, it’s fantastic. Bacon wrapped shrimp in a plate of spicy marina. Their house salad, which comes with every meal, is one of the best house salads you will ever try. What takes this restaurant to the next level is the fact often times they allow you to get half of one entree and half of another, if you can’t decide on which one you want. Which happens all the time because there are so many good entrees on the menu. I know of no other restaurant that allows this. Carmen’s is the best.
