Love oysters and this place didn’t disappoint! Our waiter was really great, from the happy humorous comments to the delicious suggestions for what was best. We were thrilled with the oysters and the salmon was equally good. For what you get (wonderful location, truly good service, excellent food, very nice relaxing atmosphere and great experience) this is one of the places you must go when visiting KC. We’ve already added it to our agenda for the weekend in KC!
Where do I begin? My husband and I have been married for two years, so we decided to celebrate here. What a mistake that was! We made a reservation for 7:30, we arrived at 6. We thought we could get in early. When we walked in we informed them of our situation and they said they could get us a table in about 30 mins. An hour later I went back to the host stand and asked what the status of our table was. They then informed me it would be 10 more minutes and we would have a table. 15 minutes later we were seated… Next to a table with two young boys. How romantic for our anniversary! I nudged my husband and said we need a new table but my husband said at least we have a table. True. So we sat down. Drinks took forever to come to our table. The bar was Better than the table. We should of eaten there!! Anyways. Ordered calamari for an appetizer. Very good. For dinner my husband ordered the chef special PAN SEARED salmon and I ordered steak and lobster with rare steak. Finally dinner comes. Oh what a disappointment. My husbands salmons was wayyyy over cooked. Should of serves cardboard. My lobster was squishy. Wayyyy under cooked. Steak was good. Veggies good. Basically we should of stayed home with a bottle of wine and I should of had my husband make us dinner (he’s a great cook ) very bad experience. Didn’t even get the chocolate bag. Won’t be going back. We will stick with @ryekc or @bluekoi in mission farms
This is definitely a wonderful venue for a private event. The decoration is unique and full of characteristics, and the staff here have very good skills. They are caring and courteous, yet doesn’t interfere your interaction with your dining partner. They have a nice, quite move as well as a very good knowledge of the offered food. I started with some coconut shrimps and the relish magarine was refreshing and woke up my palate. For the main dish I had almond crusted rainbow trout. There really weren’t sufficient almonds, but besides that the dish was tasty. The fish was cooked with its skin salty and crispy, just the way I loved. But if you are not the kind who loves fish skin, you might not want to order something else. This place doesn’t really have anything extraordinarily outstanding, yet there wasn’t anything uncomfortable or unappealing either. It is good for both casual and formal dine in
Delicious and great service!. If you want a restaurant where you are treated like someone special, come here! The waiters/ess are so nice and the atmosphere is very fancy, but not stuck up. The waiter explained everything to me and knew his stuff. When I check out a restaurant I also a waiter what is in certain things, not because I am curious, but just to know how well informed the wait staff is especially if the place is expensive. Here, they are basically like an encyclopedia of the menu! They want to make you happy. Every fish plate- and even the meats and chicken- are cooked so that you can taste the food, not some sauce. You can enjoy what you have ordered and don’t feel stuffed and over-full after you are done. The dessert could have heir own section. It would have been the perfect place for an engagement or special celebration. (My husband ended up proposing to my at a restaurant that had a broken air conditioner and a full seating on Valentine’s Day.) Go, enjoy and save room for dessert!
Food was amazing. But what did you do to the chocolate bags??? The white chocolate mousse was different. It was heavy. And not to die for as normal I couldn’t even eat it all. I hope that was a bad batch of mousse!
Dr Nelson Johnson. Service and food were excellent, customer service was outstanding for the Easter crowd
Great Christmas lunch!. We made reservations for a Christmas lunch at 12:15pm about 2 weeks prior to the event. We arrived by 11:50am and we were seated at the time of our reservation. The restaurant was busy and packed. We ordered appetizers as soon as we were seated and they arrived right away. Our lunch entrees were delicious and the server: Cedric was great and he provided excellent customer service. We plan to go back again.
