Great experience and service last night. One of the few that still use a legit prime meat on their menu. Keep it up! I highly recommend Plaza III to anyone.

If you are looking for an old school style steak house experience, this is it. From the decor to the uniforms to the menu it has its own charm. The service was excellent however we were eating during a slower time. The food: we had the oysters on the half shell the were big and fresh. We tried both soups steak and the lobster they were hearty, though I prefer the steak soup. My husband got the fillet with the Alaskan crab legs and I had the ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The fillet was melt so tender ! We tried the barnaise and the au poivre awesome accompaniments. We split the Mac and cheese but wish I would have tried something else it was ok. The finale was the grand marnier souffl it was to die for … Over all would go back for the service and fantastic food.

It was wonderful! Ok, $9 for a baked potato is a bit much, but the prime rib, au gratin potatoes and spinach salad were fantastic. We even had leftovers to take home. And the sourdough bread was the best! $11 for a Martini sounds high, but it was a double and great!

Exceptional Food & Service!. Visited for lunch and had the Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich with fries and homemade Coleslaw. Everything was good, except the Slaw which was EXCEPTIONAL, about the BEST I’ve ever had! The waitress was super nice and even gave me 2 containers to go with my doggie bag after I raved about them. The Plaza III has always been our go-to Happy Hour spot with their very addictive Beef Tenderloin Skewers ( I always order 5 of them) and their Potato Skins are DEVINE! I’m a bit perplexed at all the negative reviews on here, every single time we have gone our food and service has been exceptional, and we visit at least twice per month! (With the exception of one time their water was shut off bc of a water main problem, and we couldn’t eat there) I don’t know about the rest of you, but we will definitely be back, maybe even tonight for Happy Hour!

Tough steaks/average service. We dined at the Plaza III on New Year’s Eve. It had been 2 to 3 years since our last visit. We were very disappointed in quality of steaks and average service with top prices doesn’t cut it.My wife ordered a filet and I a KC Strip. The strip hardly looked like a strip steak very thin and tough. Was cooked as I ordered at medium rare so toughness was not from over cooking. I actually had trouble chewing the damm thing. My wife’s filet was also tough and had a rather strange taste ! The service was average at best with our server on the somber and grumpy side. We didn’t complain…we just will not return. We will not return to this KC landmark. We would suggest the Capital Grill or Mortons if you want a first class steak and service. If you want tough steaks and average or below service you can get that at the Plaza III !

Rude Service. We went there last night to celabrate our 9th year of marriage The wine stewart made a rude comment to me. I tried to redirect his comment thinking he mis-spoke or didnt mean it the way it sounded, but nope he said it again and assured me that was what he meant. He was only so so to my husband. Mind you were brought 95$ bottle of wine! I went to the restroom & maybe I was gone for 5 mins. thats what my husband said, and the server took my plate away! To be kept warm she said, cause I was gone so long! So a little later, when she brings my plate back, I’m eating… have a bite in my mouth & the fork in my hand & she asked me if i needed a box! I mean really? I will not be going back & I plan to tell everyone about my bad experience, word of mouth goes a long way!
