Seasons 52 was incredible. We told them it was our anniversary when we made our reservation and they went above and beyond to make our day special: roses, dessert, and sparkling wine all on the house! Thanks for a great evening!!
Overall I can’t recommend this place strictly because of the service. The ambiance was nice, the staff was friendly, the menu was a good size, and the food was all fairly good. We had a 1:30 reservation for 10 people. We arrived about 1:25 and ended up only having 9. We were sat at 1:48. So a 20 minute wait with a reservation. The manager noticed and offered to buy a couple of appetizers. We tried 3 different flatbreads and the hummus. It was all good but the appetizers beat our drinks (mostly water and tea, no bar drinks) to the table by a couple of minutes. We had both by 2:05 or so, not terrible, but definitely slow for drinks. We ordered our food at that time. It took about 25 minutes to get our soups/salads. The spinach salad was good, I tried the asparagus soup, it was bland and just tasted like asparagus pure. At 3:00 we were starting to become upset at the wait for our food. It arrived around 3:10. I ordered the shrimp and grits, again it was decent, the shrimp is partially mixed in with dish but still has the tails attached, not a big deal, but usually if the tails are attached I prefer for them to be easy to grab and detach. Most of the other portions were a good size, mine was 6 medium sized shrimp and about a cup of grits. Even with the appetizers, 1/2 salad, and a cup of soup I was not very full. Most everyone had room for dessert. The service was again slow getting around to offer us dessert. Once offered it was all small pre-made desserts in shot glass form. The server left what we wanted from the sample tray and ran back to grab any repeats. All said and done we received our check right before 4:00 and left soon after. No matter how the food was it was a late lunch that took over 2.5 hours. I honestly don’t know who has that kind of time for lunch and that wasn’t even at the peak of the lunch hour. No highlights on this experience, just a lot of slow service and ok food.
A Restaurant for All Seasons. We happened upon Seasons 52 while strolling the Plaza in search of someplace new to eat dinner. The restaurant has a small outdoor dining area, and while the weather wasn’t ideal….no one else was dining on their patio…they were happy to accommodate our request to be seated outdoors near their fountain. We ended up feeling like we had our own private patio, which was fun.Our server was on top of her game, and offered several menu recommendations. I opted for the sea scallops over polenta, which really hit the mark. They were seared medium rare, and the polenta mixed with peas, from their Spring menu, was also perfectly cooked. It was just the right sized portion. The menu offers a nice mix of salads, soups, appetizers and main courses. Prices are fair. We really enjoyed our meals, and would recommend this restaurant.
Great service!. We went here on a double date last night and had an absolutely lovely evening!I actually ordered a starter as my entree because I was in the mood for something light – the salumi flatbread was absolutely delicious! The flatbread itself was very thin and crispy, almost like a cracker, which I quite enjoyed. The mozzarella and pesto had great flavor. The tomatoes were perfectly roasted and juicy. And the thin slices of salumi added that punch of salt. For dessert they offer minis – little desserts served tall shot glasses. My husband and I shared two. The first had a layer of chocolate cake which was covered my an even thicker layer of chocolate ganache and roped off with a toasted marshmallow. The second had two layers of chocolate cake, each topped with a layer of peanut butter mousse and peanuts. Both were the perfect fix for my sweet tooth!23 Mar, 2015Amazing service!. Fantastic!!!. Everything about this restaraunt was perfect! Food was delicious, not overly expensive, wine was great, and our waiter Ricky was phenomenal!!! Everyone was very welcoming. Perfect place to go for our anniversary, we plan to make that our yearly place!! There are not enough great things I could say about this place! Absolutely loved it!
Good food good service. Had a great meal; solid wine; and great service from our waiter, Matt. Compared to Capital Grill, the food was as good and the prices were ~30 – 40% lower. Will go back for sure next time we visit again from Omaha.
Best experience ever!. Our second visit here and now has become my favorite restaurant in KC! Excellent service both times, friendly host and hostesses, great piano bar and all the food has been superb!…great atmosphere, romantic and a great all round experience…scallops, shrimp, flatbreads and the desserts are to die for! Happy Hour was great as well! The host told us we were getting his best table and it was fabulous! Run to experience it! We will be back soon!
