First time here and what we expected. Super convenient to eat before a nice show at The Fox. Unpretentious, casual and a decent value. Staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean and relaxing. Overall, a great place for a casual meal in the downtown area. I can’t wait to return and try the Gyro’s!!
St. Louis Experience. This place is a hometown favorite and the experience is just as important as the food.To clarify, this place is a cafeteria that happens to sell steak. After clarifying, the steak tastes pretty good, but it is by no means quality beef.Now that’s out of the way, THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! When you walk in, you first smell the cooking meat, buttery texas toast, and baking potatoes. Then you hear a lout NEXT! When you get in line make up you mind quickly because when the guy behind the counter looks at you and screams NEXT! you better have your order ready! After ordering, you can choose salads, sides, and old fashioned desserts. Also, get the texas toast, and get a baked potato, not fries.The food is pretty good, and the price isn’t bad, but the experience makes it what it is. If you’re on the fence, just go. Enjoy it.

Decent food, interesting eperience.. but should lower prices!. Have been here about 4 times! Food is decent. Prices could be much lower! Dont expect any choice cuts of beef here but if you want a quick simple steak and some frozen shrimp then this is your joint! Cooks yell out to you to take your order at which point you yell back to them your order then watch them cook it right in front of you! Kinda wild and very cafeteria style but if you like wild youll be entertained! Salad never looks too fresh and if you ask the girl behind the counter to give you another prepare for straight attitude! Just have a bigger attitude and get what you want though…hell you are paying $16 bucks! Defintely an experience all should have when visiting St Louis!
A St. Louis Experience. While the food at Best Steak House is mediocre at best, going there on New Year’s Eve, just before First Night with our adolescent boys is a tradition that we all look forward to. You’ll need to have an idea what meat you want as you walk in the door, since one of the cooks will yell out for you to yell back your order. It’s all part of the fun of it. It’s definately a dive, but worth the experience….at least once. PS…order extra garlic bread.
Horsemeat. This place SUCKED! Service was blah, the quality of meat was the worse I’ve ever seen. Don’t go. It’s a trap.
