Pretty mediocre pub fare.
Stumbled across this place as I was looking for a new place to eat for my birthday. The sports bar atmosphere is awesome! The food and service is good although not great. I would definitely go back again though.
Wish I’d given this place a try MUCH sooner!!. Let me start by saying I’m ashamed to admit I live 5 min away and the first time I went here was last week to see the Cardinals NLCS game 4. TV’s galore, so many I couldn’t decide which one to watch. The game was on and that was it. There was no competing noise, other than conversation from bar patrons, which was hardly anything to complain about, and never required me to raise my voice when speaking so that the waitress could hear, etc. I went there to watch the game and that’s what I was able to do. Kudo’s to you on actually having a sports bar where one can watch sports and hear the commentary of the sportscasters!! Well done! Now on to the food, which was fantastic!! I ordered their version of a BLT, which is now my new standard that all future BLT’s will be upheld to. There had to have been at least a half pound of bacon on that sucker, so much that I didn’t even care when my boyfriend started randomly pulling pieces out and eating them. There was plenty to go around, and I only finished half the sandwich (which the remaining half I used and made the best breakfast sandwich the next day by adding a cooked egg). The tomato could have easily been the highlight of the sandwich, though. It wasn’t just any old tomato. Instead they took things up a notch and garnished the sandwich with a fried green tomato. Toasted sourdough, fresh baby spinach rather than boring lettuce, and peppered (as in black pepper) mayo finished this amazing selection. Perfection on a plate!! I had the fries as my side, not much to say -they were french fries, and a dill pickle spear to accompany it all. We will definitely be going back – I dare say this has now become my favorite sports bar – displacing Sybergs in my ranking system.
Great Sports Bar – Good food. I stumbled onto this bar / restaurant by accident. I was attending a concert at the Fox Theater, and the place I had gone before was so crowded, I came across the Field House Pub. I sat at the bar, and had a Salmon Sandwich and a couple of mixed drinks. My bill was right around $20.After the concert, they had opened up 2 sets of garage doors, and people sat outside, while traffic thinned out.I will definitely go back, in fact I have another concert coming up.
Food here is soooooooo amazing! The wings are top notch n the pizza kicks butt! Definetly a must try… Plus there’s like 20 beers on tap.
Troubling. I do enjoy the Field House and their food is above average. I have been going about twice a week, but no longer. I usually sit at th bar and all has been good. This time I was at a table with my daughter. Not only was the wait person rude, they responded in a digusted manner when we changed an item we wordered. Then when we receied the bill, the item we had cacnelled was still listed. It was corrected. In any case I think I will take a few months off from the two times a week visit, and I can no longer recommend it as I have done so to my colleagues at SLU.
Great food, atmosphere, service. The service was great, the atmosphere is awesome. 20 beers on tap and awesome food!! Great place to go for a game with like 20 TV’s!
