Pleasant Surprise. This past Saturday (Nov 2nd) I stopped at the Chestnut for a few of their offerings to try out since I was in the area at the time. I can see how the Chestnut would be a packed place when the weather is nice. The Biergarten is probably one of the nicest biergartens in the STL area. I sampled the Urban Blacktop, OACHKATZLSCHWOAF, and Zwickel. There is a heavy German influence on the beer and the menu they provide. I enjoyed all of the samples that I have had there and would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

As Good As It Gets. What can be better than an evening of live music and great beer on the biergarten? One of my favorite places in St. Louis.

I love this place.. Great beer and comfortable atmosphere. This place is already blowing up (popularity wise) since the first time I visited. I look forward to when the patio opens again. I love the Winged Nut… and all their other not-too-dark beers.

Awesome brews and brewery. I love the atmosphere here, and judging by the crowds of people on their patio and beer garden – I am assuming a lot of people do. I also appreciate that Urban Chestnut Brewery is helping to bring action and life to a part of Washington Ave that needs it. Aside from a great enviroment, their bartenders are extremely informative about their beer. Upon visiting I had the opportunity to try their Zwickel and their Winged Nut – both spectacular brews. When my finace and I were organzing an event this past June, we thought to include Urban Chestnut. They were extrememly generous to our cause. Our event would not have been as successful, and our guests not as happy, without Urban Chestnut’s participation. I believe this is one of the best micro-breweries in town, and I look forward to finding their products at increasingly more establishments. If you’re downtown, skip all the run of the mill bars and clubs on the frequently traveled pathways of Washington Ave and travel up to N. Leonard and Washington for something new and exciting!

Not bad. Visiting from Memphis, our pub crawl this year landed us at Urban Chestnut. We got a list of their brews online from their website. Unfortunately, we were somewhat confused of the list because the ones that stood out were unavailable at the pub. I like hops and the hoppiest beer on tap was the Hopfen. I started out with a Hopswitch 3 which was decent. The Hopfen was much better but still not as hoppy as I prefer. My dad really enjoyed the Pilgrim 7. We sat at the bar and the girls working it were great. The live music was a nice touch and the atmosphere was perfect for a pub. We didn’t try the food so I can’t say anything on that but if you’re interested in a down-to-earth brew pub, UCBC seems like a great option!

My favorite beer is St. Louis. GO TO THERE!!! The Maximillian dunkelweizen is my fave. But for all you hop heads out there, this place has much pleasure for your palette.

Love this place!. This place is just great! Great atmosphere, great employees that really know about the beer they brew there, and absolutely great local craft brewed beer! Most of the beers brewed here have a german background/twist on them which i love! They have a nice small food menu of meat and cheese plates, pretzel rolls, a brat, etc, all of which is nice to munch on while enjoying the brews there!
