One of the best for the area. Il Bel Lago provides a very quiet atmosphere both indoors and out in the summer for a quiet business luncheon. Food is excellent and service likewise. One of the best features is that once your meal is delivered you are not disturbed unless you ask to be.

Heavenly Meatball. My husband and I love Il Bel Lago. First of all, it’s in our neighborhood and it’s great to get a lovely Italian meal without always needing to drive into the city. Secondly, the restaraunt itself is beautiful, understated and elegant. The bar is also great and it’s a nice place to go have a drink and appetizer and hear some good jazz. We have always found the service to be superb. In fact, we called on New Year’s eve when we decided at the last minute to go out, and were told to come in because they had just had a cancellation. The food is consistently excellent whether steaks, seafood, veal or pasta. And we never go in without getting the meatball appetizer. I’m not normally a meatball fan, but the one (yes one big one) at Il Belago is off the charts. The meat is moist, the seasoning is perfect, the sauce is mouthwatering and they add a bit of something like a riccota cheese sauce that takes it completely over the top. The wine list is excellent and their martinis are superb. We have dined at Il Belago somewhere around 10-12 times and never had anything but an excellent evening. The owners always seem to be there, and sometimes that is what makes all the difference.

Great food and service. Enjoyed a fine meal with friends last evening. Started with pasta. Had the fish special which was grouper with tomatoes and artichokes-yum! Fine service from Franco Cusamano.

I went for lunch and had 1. An appetizer which had a shrimp and fish ravioli.2. House salad3.Fusilli Quattro Formaggi – Parmigiano, fontina, gorgonzola and romano cheeses with ham and peas in a cream sauce Since these are lunch portions is was not as much food as it would have been for dinner. The appetizer ravioli was just outstanding. Cooked to perfection and had a great sauce. The salad was nice arugula with a balsamic vinaigrette. Hey it was a salad what more can I say.Now the main course Fusilli Quattro Formaggi – Parmigiano, fontina, gorgonzola and romano cheeses with ham and peas in a cream sauce if the name does not impress then I guess you will just have to try it. It is served with spiral noodles and as much cheese and cream on the description it was not floating in sauce. The sauce was there on the bottom of bowl you could adjust how much of the sauce you wanted by stirring it to the top. Small bits of ham and peas completed the dish. Neither was a main ingredient so it was there for color and a slight taste. All in all a mighty tasty meal. The service was outstanding and the waiter very understanding of the needs of the group of people. Keep up the good work!

Best STL dining experience we’ve had in a long time. Surprisingly accommodating to our nine month old son.

Great Restaurant. On a recent visit our waiter was more concerned about sneaking smokes outside than serving. Had to get the manager involved just to get a glass of wine after 25 minutes, and to order dessert and pay the bill. Great food though. Far better than most of the dated Hill restaurants.
