Went there for the second time, gave them a chance to do better than the first visit. Ordered the tuna sandwich med rare first visit and it was served fully cooked. Same thing happened second time. Girlfriend did like her salad but how difficult is that. Server was good but they didn’t give me a reason to go back again.
When I walked in there was a strange smell as I walked to the table. As I looked around, the ceiling tiles were brown from water stains and dirt. The tables, chairs and decor was old. I didn’t get the correlation between the name of the restaurant and the food. The food was just ok, nothing to write home about. I had a coupon and they do give you a lot for the money. Id been wanting to try this restaurant for a while but I don’t have to go back for a long time.
Great place. I go there for the prime rib sandwich . It’s a great meal, always cooked as ordered.
Great Burger and Fries. Down Under has a great burger and fries. I eat burger and fries everywhere I go, even steakhouses. So you know I love a good burger and fries. I tend to get them with just cheese, so the burger can speak for itself. That is my opinion atleast, so you can take it as you like. I read some other reviews complaining about the burger being overdone and them using krinkle cut fries. I like my burger cooked to order but I have not had the problem of an over cooked burger here and I love the krinkle cut fries. So White Castles has the same type of fries, I love White Castles fries. Anyway, I guess the point is to each his own. This place is near the tops of my burger places, which include Chee Burger Chee Burger and 5 Guys Burger and Fries.
Great selections. Moved into the area a few months ago. We go to the restaurant at least once a week. The blooming Onion is always a winner, along with the meatloaf, prime sandwich and great burgers. it’s great to have found this secret just around the corner!!!!
I have been coming here for 15 years and can say I have tried everything at least once. The lemon pepper wings are awesome and if I want something that is not on the menu, they can make it! Service is great and could not ask for anything more from a local family restaurant! Check it out!
Serious decline in quality. Smaller, overcooked burgers and CRINKLE CUT fries. We hadn’t been there in a year or so, and won’t go back. When you order a burger MED RARE, it shouldn’t arrive MED WELL. It’s bad enough that White Castle and Del Taco have both switched to those crappy, crinkle cut fries, but Down Under is a restaurant, not a fast food joint. You can get a better burger and fries at Hardee’s for a couple dollars less, and for about two bucks more you can get a FAR better burger at Red Robin, and the RR burger comes with unlimited GOOD fries.
