The food is good and carry out is probably the best way to enjoy this restaurant. I have tried to dine in but the service is so unreasonably bad. If you get someone’s attention it take a good five minute lead time to get a response. I was seated but ignored even though I was one of 5 tables throughout the entire restaurant. At this point I have been here 35 minutes waiting for fried rice. I have called in orders much more complicated and they have been ready so much faster. I can only imagine what happens when there is a real crowd.
Excellent Food. Great food, service so so. price around $15 a person
Eat here. We’ve lived across the street for the last 2.5 years. We probably got take-out from Bamboo Bistro over 100 times. Not once have we been disappointed. It’s a little pricier than a lot of the Asian restaurants downtown, but you honestly get what you pay for. The servings are generous and the food incredibly tasty. It’s not too salty like a lot of Asian places. And the service at the counter has always been phenomenal. Whether your new or a veteran customer, they’re friendly and quick. Personal favorite dishes:Beef green bean Chicken pad Thai Chicken TeriyakiMongolian beefCrispy onion shrimp rollCrab Rangoon (of course!)
I am attending an international conference and staying at the hotel next to the restaurant. I went into the bamboo bistro at noon. There were 10 to 15 open tables and booths. Many of them set for two. I indicated that I was alone. The staff member indicated that I could only be seated at the high tables in the back by the kitchen. These tables were not set and in a very high traffic area. I said that I would prefer one of the regular tables or booths. The greeter said that they would not be able to seat me. I am not sure of the reason I was refused service while there were obviously open tables, but I certainly would not recommend this restaurant because of the treatment I received.
I travel to St Louis for a few days each month and this is one of my favorite stops. Lunch buffet is so so, but dinner meals are always great and never crowded.
The food was good but the service was not the greatest
Service was great, the egg rolls were fantastic but the meal overall was just so-so. I guess I was expecting/hoping for a more authentic Vietnamese dish. I didn’t hate it but I was hoping for more.
