This place was top notch from the moment we walked in the doors. The guys were so nice and thankfully offered a sample of the turkey, otherwise, I wouldnt have gotten that. Three meats, sides and a Big Muddy sandwich it was! Perfect! The brisket and pork were amazing!!!!!!
The BBQ was just okay, but I shattered a porcelain crown on a piece of bone from a poorly cut rib. The location was the only reason we went there. It was a mistake
My husband and I both ordered the special, which was the Ultimate Ham and Cheese sandwich. It was layered with smoked country ham, Swiss and smoked Gouda cheese, Parmesan, Truffle and Arugula. That is a mighty fancy grilled cheese if you ask me, and it was all amazing. The salty ham and the melted cheese with the sharp arugula on top was delicious. It was the perfect combination of flavors and nothing overpowered anything else and every bite was filled with gooey melted cheese and ham.If someone else picked this restaurant to eat at again, I would totally do it, but I would order it online on the website so that I wasn’t rushed and meant to feel like an idiot. All of the food looks amazing, and everything we tasted was delicious, but I can’t deal with rude people like that. Going to new restaurants and traveling should be a fun experience and if your restaurant is that well known and famous, they are obviously doing everything right as far as food goes. Was it just an off day for the cashier? Maybe, which is why I didn’t say anything back to be polite. However, that experience could have been so much better with a fake smile and polite attitude, even if you didn’t want to be at work that day.
A lot of food for the money. Combo platter with brisket and pulled pork, side of jambalaya (nicely spicy), side of scalloped potatoes and cauliflower au gratin. Comes with a drink, all for about $16 after tax. Delicious. Good assortment of sauces, mostly sweet; sorry, no vinegar based sauce for you Virginians.
BEST PLACE EVER!!! Even just the aroma makes your mouth water! For sure an amazing place for BBQ. Loved every bite and have gone back every time I’ve visited STL.
Have eaten there several times. Had lunch there yesterday. The chicken biscuit was a long slice of very heavily breaded chicken breast slathered with buffalo wing sauce in a small sliced biscuit. Disappointing. My friends and I both returned the coleslaw because it was tasteless. I exchanged my slaw for jambalaya, which consisted of dry rice with Cajun seasoning and did not vaguely resemble jambalaya. I Returned that and exchanged it for pizza tater tots, which were more edible than the slaw and jambalaya. The sugar fire pie tasted like sugar, with a vague taste of sweet potato or pumpkin. By this time, they were tired of exchanging my food. They lied and said they didn’t have any other desserts even though I could see that they did. I demanded a refund for the pie. Another person at my table says the ribs there are the best she has ever had. The third person said the brisket was too dry and the baked beans were better than usual. Sugar fire is expensive and very hit or miss. Sometimes it is good, sometimes appalling. Won’t be going back anytime soon.
I ordered 2 meat combo (sausage and brisket) which comes with 2 sides. It’s a lot of good tasty food! Plenty for 2 to share. On an earlier visit I had a half rack of baby backs and was equally pleased. I’m a fan!
