Love cupcakes, and wanted to love this place. Cupcakes look great, as far as taste goes, they are just ok…a little disappointing actually. Further, the lady behind the counter was not very pleasant.
Apparently Cupcakes Don’t Make Everyone Happy. . .. I’m don’t have a much of a sweet tooth and haven’t tried a lot of cupcakes, so I don’t really have anything to compare my lemon cupcake to. I thought it was delicious and the icing was tart and creamy. Not overly sweet which I am fine with. But, the gal behind the counter couldn’t have been less friendly. I probably wouldn’t go back for that reason. Not when there are so many cupcake shops out there these days. I just assume a cupcake place is a happy place. Am I wrong? My co-worker was trying to ask about buying cupcakes by the dozen for a baby shower and it was like pulling teeth to get any information. She seemed bothered by anything other than what kind of cupcakes we wanted and nearly distressed at the idea of having to put it in a bag to go. They had some really entertaining greeting cards for sale and I could see that she was totally annoyed that I was reading them outloud to my friend.
Tasty but….. The the lady working in the shop is not friendly at all. I dont know who she is but when you go in there she acts like you are bothering her by buying her products. I mean really. I tried to ask her about her products and she was totally dismissive.
Office Candy. The ladies at work are quite fond of those cupcakes. We customarily buy trays when were celebrating–or lamenting…–an event. Speaking of which, they did a great job at customizing an order for us. We asked them to draw the Facebook and Twitter logos with frosting for one of our marketing staff member’s birthday and it was a success at the office.
They were yummy and really cute looking! Not the best, but liked them 🙂
I was so excited about trying the cupcakes here! I’d heard quite a lot about this bakery, and wanted to try it myself. I took my sister along with me to gauge my opinion against her’s (and try more flavors at the same time!). We order the caramel, strawberry, and banana cupcakes. My first impression of the cupcakes (all of them) was that I did not care for the cake at all. I was so disappointed in their flavor, and I did not particularly cake for their texture, either. The icing on the caramel cupcake was more just sweet that caramel, and all around unappetizing. The banana icing tasted like the most nasty fake banana flavor I have ever eaten! I took one bite, and immediently was turned off. The strawberry icing, however, was the highlight of the afternoon. True strawberry flavor and very tasty. Overall, though, I didnt even care for the frosting. It left a waxy feeling in my mouth. Sadly, I will not be returning to Baby Cakes.
Mediocre. Cakes were dry, and tasted like commercial batter. Icing was a bit crusty. Over the top with butter in the butter cream.
