Their pizzas are pretty tasty. The margherita is completely not a margherita, but the rest of what we ordered was good.However, their service was absolutely horrible. After trying to call ahead to pre-order (which is a selection on their automated menu one pay choose), we went to their place on 18th to order and wait for take-out. A lady greeted us, and we mentioned we had tried to call ahead with no luck. From there on out, she completely ghosted us and barely said 10 words.Having worked in the fine wine industry, I advise Grinder’s to find servers who are hospitable and welcoming. I would call her personality a wet noodle, but a bowl of wet noodles is warm and inviting.She was neither. Get take-out . . . IF you can get them to answer their phone to take your order.
This was the worst dining experience we’ve had since moving back to KC. My husband and two small children and I walked from the Sprint Center specifically to Grinders because I had heard it was awesome. We were told to seat ourselves and 45 minutes later, we were still sitting there, never having been waited on. The wait staff almost doubled the customer ratio. Pitiful!
Honestly, I wouldn’t go here again. We based it off of all of these positive reviews but it was nothing special. Our appetizer of fried mushrooms was still frozen in the middle and the entrees we got weren’t worth the praise. I’d say save your money and get something better.
Don’t understand all the hype. Got the most flavorless Philly cheesesteak sandwich I have ever eaten. I really wanted to like this place. Sad.
Gladstonecouple. Ate at grinders for the first time today. Been wanting to try for a long time. Over all was pretty good. Beer and pizza was good. Service was OK. it was extremly hot, wonder the staff was a little grumpy. Not at us but amongest each other. Will definitely go back though, can’t wait to try the philly.
Cool place. Food was decent. lots of options. LOTS. price was also good. Altho _ service was slow and sorta not so friendly. Our waitress didnt smile. but I would go back. nice environment.
Had a salad and rueben. The salad was your typical salad. My rueben was pretty good. Jalapeo sauerkraut makes it different. Was a little dry. Could have used some more thousand island. My server was super friendly. And the atmosphere was comfortable. Good lunch spot. Not amazing. But well done
