This place was not as amazing as my elite friends raved about. Honestly I would eat in the cow barn if the food was amazing, so atmosphere and trappings don’t matter to me. This was ok French food, but Cafe Provence and Chez Yazu (Topeka) are far superior in technique, flavor and presentation and which I feel are worthy of my money and time for the experience. Wine list, excellent. Dessert, quite good I’m, thinking it was probably outsourced. Main menu… marginal. Meats average, sauces, subpar, slightly unbalanced or one ingredient is so loud it overwhelms the palate. Salad nothing amazing, dressing not well balanced. Soup, again not horrible, but not amazing. I don’t want to taste the alcohol in a French onion soup, but rather the flavor. In fairness my spouse had a clam chowder and loved its hit you in the face fishy flavor. Bread was not the best French baguettes, but sorry refrigerated hard butter served to the table….. really? Finally, and most incredulous to me is that it appears that you socioeconomic status is judged upon arrival. It pretty obvious looking at who is seated where. When you order multiple wines or expensive ones, then you get more attention. The place was a huge disappoinment for me. No repeat for me.
