Final got to take my wife to the Majestic for a nice celebration dinner. You walk in and you feel like you go back in time. Fantastic atmosphere. Narrow walls with high ceilings and a beautiful bar. Started with the mussels and fries app. Big crunchy fries on top of a dozen or so mussels in a rich cream sauce. Wonderful taste of the ocean. Perfect for dipping your bread in to sop it up. We also each got the steak soup. Rich, hearty stew that sticks to your bones and warms you up. Excellent flavored. She got the 8 oz strip with amazing creamed spinach and a twice baked potato. She’s pregnant, so she got the steak well done unfortunately, but she said the flavor was perfect.I had the 12 oz blackened ribeye (med rare) with steamed asparagus and 2x baked potato. Sides were excellent, the steak was spot on. Dark pink center with an amazing crunchy/salty crust. Rich full dry aged flavor. Really packed a punch. Melted like butter in my mouth. We both had plenty of left overs which I can’t wait for. It’s not cheap, at about 160 total with tip, but if you’re looking for a fine dinning experience that IS worth the $, give the Majestic a try.Almost forgot, they had great live music downstairs. Basement jazz club kinda stuff. A good old KC establishment.
One of my favorite KC restaurants!. The Majestic never disappoints….it’s always good. Our server, Jeff, was awesome – very attentive, fun, even had the bartender come up with a signature cocktail for my mom, and it was delicious!! The food is always amazing – salads were fresh and pretty, the steaks were AWESOME. Oh, and the jazz is always wonderful! Love everything about this place!
Awesome. Right up there with st Elmo’s. Top 3 I’ve ever had. KC strip and steak soup both are phenomenal
My wife and I had lunch. Let me sat that this was the best meal we have eaten in Kansas City.
We celebrated a birthday at The Majestic last night and overall it was a great evening. The cocktails were fantastic, the Dumonte Sour is definitely a new favorite. The Spinach-Artichoke dip we ordered for an appetizer was delicious. I ordered the pork medallions for dinner and unfortunately they were completely overcooked and dry (I didn’t want to cause a disturbance, so in defense of the restaurant, I didn’t give them the opportunity to fix it). The mashed potatoes and creamed spinach however, were very good and the rest of my party seemed to enjoy their meals. Our service was very good, our sever was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a great historic feel. I would absolutely go back, I would just stay away from the pork medallions.
Made reservation for romantic dinner with my boyfriend. Wasn’t sure I’d done the right thing as we drove past and parked since the neighborhood is a little sketchy. But both the food and the service were fantastic. Cocktails were amazing and we loved the 1920s speakeasy ambiance. Totally recommend this place to those who appreciate a place that isn’t a chain and has a little character.
