Terrible!. This place is a joke! The people there are arrogant, the service bad, it’s crowded, noisy, overpriced and the food is fair. The menu is ridiculous, (trout, duck, rabbit…) yuk! Its so loud you can’t hold a conversation, but you can hear the people next to you because the tables are so close together. I think there was one waitress working. We were so bummed when we left.

I really want to love this place. After trying this place a couple of times, I have to say, I don’t hate it, but I would much rather go somewhere else. My first time there were 5 of us and our server made us feel like we weren’t supposed to be there, perhaps we were annoying her. I found the steak tartare, my scallops and my swiss chard to be very bland. 3 out of 5 liked their food, 5 out of 5 disliked our server. My next visit was about the same, the server was much better, but the food just didn’t do it for me. Maybe my expectations were too high; everyone I knew was just raving about this place.

Really sexy beautiful food.. From the owner, to the bar and drinks, the service, and last but certainly not least…. The food. Do not skip this amazing, delicious place. 2 words – smoked octopus … Then take a little stroll down stairs to that gem, manifesto. Yep, just gets better.

Really liked it, didn’t love it. Had an outstanding time with friends meeting up for an early holiday gahering. Had been before when it was restaurant 1924 and knew what to expect atmosphere wise. All of our meals were very good and the drinks likewise-no complaints. I can’t really put my finger on what exactly it was but, i’d just as soon have eaten at Pot Pie or Le Fou Frog for the money. I will say that my rabbit & dumplings were very good, as was my Pimm’s Cup.

Batting .750. We met good friends for dinner at Rieger Hotel last night. We shared a terrific meal and lively conversation. The octopus, rabbit and pork chop all got rave reviews. My wife was a little disappointed in her pan seared Halibut. Three out of four is not bad for an All Star Game weekend when .300 hitters are celebrated. The noise level was a little elevated by enthusiastic diners enjoying the excellent food and attentive service. I’ll cast my vote for the Rieger Hotel for my All Star Team.

Very Good. I was looking forward to visiting since I saw The Rieger on Check Please KC. It was very good. This is one of the few places in which the mixed drinks are worth the price. If you are a bourbon drinker try the Pendergast. It was excellent. I had to have a second one! The pork soup was outstanding and rich. It was somewhat like french onion soup with lots of cheese. My son who is very food picky said the fried chicken was the best he’s ever had. The rabbit was delicious. We’ll put this one on our favorites list!! My only recommendation for improvement would be to offer sparkling water instead of the tap water they provide in bottles prior to and through the meal.

Confused. Food was outstanding – the frisee salad with a poached egg on top was awesome. Atmosphere is weird – doesn’t feel right for the space. Space is formal; atmosphere is casual. Also seemed on the dirty side. The manifesto part was pretty cool…. Not sure I’ll be back.
