I came here to catch up with a friend and because I love Taste so, so much. We didn’t try the food but each had two delicious cocktails. It didn’t disappoint and the service was great! I love just telling the bartenders the flavors I’m into and letting them pick a drink for me. Both times the choices were great. I’m not a fan of Bourbon but they convinced me to try a Bourbon drink and it was the first one I actually enjoyed.I think I prefer Taste a little more but that’s also because it’s much closer to where I live and it’s more familiar to me, but this is such a great addition to this area. I would love to come sit on their patio next time!
Very good place! The cocktails were very interesting. There was 3 separate pages of cocktails. Also the food was excellent! If you like duck, you must try the duck jerky! The flatbreads were light and tasty. Would definitely go back here.
This is still one of my favorite places. Every person I bring here falls in love. Where they are rightfully known for their world class beverage program. The culinary side is equally delightful. Chef Brad Hoffman and his team are producing a menu that is creative, nuanced, clever and delicious. We can only hope he is contagious.
Arguably one of the best restaurants in St. Louis – especially in the summer.. Lafayette Square NEEDED this place. First of all, this restaurant is beautiful. The inside has a very appealing bar, brick walls and pops of red. I don’t know that I LOVE the wallpaper, but hey, you can’t win ’em all. Still, very inviting. Now, the patio is the real scene-stealer. Gorgeous strung lights, a little enclosed area… as we were walking to the restaurant from our car, I was praying this patio area belonged to Planter’s House. Really, really well done.We loved the food. I don’t remember what my husband ate, but I started with the spring salad – simple and lemony, my favorite type of salad – and then had the mussels. Oh those mussels. And the CORNBREAD. Loved my dinner. I would go back and order the whole thing all over again in a heartbeat. My husband had a mixed drink, but I ordered the sparkling ros, which I can’t NOT order if a place has it. Really great selection of drinks. This place deserves a lot more attention. Well done.
Trendy. As a rule we tend to stay away from the trendy spots and stick with our tried and true favorites. With friends moving back to St. Louis we are branching out, which took us to Planter’s House. I’m glad we went, although a 20 minute wait for a table was longer than we usually wait. We had cocktails, beer for husband and myself, and mixed drinks for friends. Noshed on some waaaaaay over-priced popcorn. Friends said that drinks were good and their entrees were good. We’ll probably bow out the next time and let the youngsters go without us.
I have been here several times and have enjoyed their cocktails. however I finally had some food this evening and I was not dissapointed. I decided to try their flatbread of the day which was tomato sauce, arugula, goat cheese and guanciale. It was perfect! The flatbread was crispy but not too hard nor too soft. The tomato sauce was slightly sweet but balanced perfectly with the spicy arugula, the tangy goat cheese and the salty meat. I will soon be back to sample more off this menu!!
Love this place! Mussels were awesome & can’t say enough about the chimichurri steak. Unbelievable cocktails.
