Really wanted to like this place! Went to the new location for lunch. The girl working behind the counter needs to be trained! We had to repeat our order numerous times. The food was not good. I don’t know what they do to their pork fried rice, but it tasted off! They also use way too much soy! I had the boneless hot braised chicken and the quality of the chicken was poor. Meat was tough and tasted old. Needless to say, we will not be back!
Food was good but small portions. The boneless hot braised chicken only had 5 small pieces and the pork egg foo young only had one patty.
Dinner review. I visited The Rice House for the first time last night. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in about 10 minutes. I was a bit skeptical about that short time frame. However I arrived at the restaurant in about 10 minutes and after I paid for my order, sure enough my order was ready! The fried rice I ordered was very good. Egg roll uh not so impressed. Boneless hot braised chicken, was good, but a bit too much sauce for me. The Beef Broccoli I was told was good (I did not taste it) The chicken steamed rice was just so-so. I did think the entrees could have had more meat in them. However the prices are higher than most restaurants in the area. Overall it was good. I would go back again.
The Food. Had to try this a few times to be sure. The rice is OUTSTANDING as it should be given the name. The fried wonton is the best I’ve EVER had and the eggrolls are amazing. The portions are large although the almond chicken had a little too much breading for me. I’ve experienced good and not-so-good service BUT Kenny the owner is a hoot!
Yum. Great chicken st. pauls and fried rice for a good price. Crab rangoon is a tad bit too garlicky for my taste but I’m glad it wasn’t the too sweet kind that some places have. The only thing I would suggest is adding egg drop soup to the menu – it’s my kids’ favorite part of chinese takeout
VERY GOOD FOOD…BUT. Very good food. The fried rice is RIGHT.. The Angry bird St.Paul is really good.. My sister had the Jerk Chicken and loved it. Bad Customer service tho.. The cashier is ALWAYS on her cell phone when I come in which is rude to me.. But I continue to go because of the good food
