All in all a mediocre experience. Nothing horrible, but nothing particularly good about the meal. Arrived on a Friday evening and we were quickly seated. Ordered drinks, appetizer and dinner. Drinks came out one person at a time was told one of the items on the sampler was out (after it was brought out) and we gave you extra onion rings. Doubtful and why not give the customer a choice. Salad was, well, a salad. The soup tastes good, but was tepid. The entrees were cooked correctly (steaks) and tasted average. Seemed as though the items were sitting awhile (temp) before being brought out. No reason to return. Not a big disappointment; always a chance when trying someplace new.
This is a classic old-school steakhouse. From the steaks, to the salad, to the appetizers, to the sides — Classic old-school all the way. The 16oz cowboy cut ribeye was perfectly fire-grilled. This is a great steak for the price. We will be back.
Good food, good service!. A coworker and I have dined a Drakes on more than one occasion. We have never been let down by the quality and quantity of their food. I usually get the ribeye steak. Its always cooked the way I order it. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Only complaint I have is that they close too early. I’m a service tech and finding good food at the end of a long day is a pain in this area.
So Disappointing. We went here on a weekend trip. This restaurant was right by our hotel so we decided to try it. We had stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and they were barely warm. Then my daughter and I were spliting a steak. I asked for it medium well and it was burnt. It tasted like charcoal. There was a man at another table who had the same complaint. It tasted so bad I decided on the the pulled pork sandwich after trying my husbands. I was scared to risk getting another steak. My biggest complaint was the only thing they offer me was a free side item since i got two with the steak and only one with the pulled pork. We will never be back. Such a let down.
Good food, excellent prices. BBQ and smoked meats, sandwiches, salads, yummy appetizers, and friendly service. Something for everyone.
Very good cheap food. Great BBQ. $2 pints of Honkers.
