Raw Food, Horrible Manager. By Sara R. on 12/01/2014I’ve been coming to the one in independence since they opened. The service has steadily declined to the point of no return and now I’m served raw food. I ordered the Johnny as I always do. Ordered a medium steak and was served a raw steak. The blood was draining on my plate. Not going to sugar coat this. I wanted to hurl! The manager came over and told me they have different guidelines for cooking meat and insisted this was their version of medium. I told him I’ve been coming for years and always order the same thing and this is not medium. He asked if they could just cook the steak more but I see blood draining all over my other food and said no. So he brought me a whole new plate. It looked great. Steak was cooked correctly and he still insisted on arguing with me about the steak. Then I cut into my chicken to taste raw meat yet again. Now I have raw chicken! That I just ate! At this point I was done and ready to leave! My love of carrabbas is completely gone. I’ve given them way too many chances. As I’m typing this I’m praying to God I’m not going to die or get ill from the one bite of that raw chicken. Bad service and the worst experience ever!

Rubber band in meatballs!. It was a blind date and I’d never been to Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Independence. The staff was friendly and the tables were clean (no junk under the tables like other places that only get cleaned at the end of the night). Our server was Jessica, who was very prompt & friendly. The menu seemed a little on the high side for what you got. My date ordered Polla Rosa Maria ($14.50) and I tried the Spaghetti with meatballs & meat sauce ($12+?).The house salad left room for improvement as it was small and almost a teaser. The serving of Spaghetti was about right, which I would estimate at a $5.99 value elsewhere. The flavor wasn’t outstanding and the dish wasn’t something I’d order again. I got a to-go box and we sat and visited for a while.Several hours later I decided to finish up the to-go box and after cutting a meatball open with the fork, seen something really strange cooked in the middle…a blue rubber band about the size of a 50 cent piece!I only wish I would have discovered this while sitting at the table, imagine the outcome of that conversation with the manager.I’m going to follow up with them, if there’s an issue with rubber bands ending up in the meat balls it needs to be addressed. I stopped eating and threw the rest in the trash, no telling what else could have accidently been cooked in the other meat balls.I likely would never return to eat there again, not much of a value in the cost to portion ratio.
