A Decent Breakfast. My spouse and I decided to have breakfast earlier this week. Usually the parking lot is packed, but it wasn’t crowded at 9 AM this past Monday. The breakfast experience was okay, the service was fast and our serving person was attentive. I had an omelet that was pretty good, but the accompanying biscuit was a bit past it’s prime, dry and cold. Overall, it was a decent breakfast, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. I may stop here again and try their lunch.

Only need to say one thing ….. chicken fried steak! I have had it at least two dozen times. Great pies too. Always a friendly staff.
Always good food, always busy. Staff is polite and have eaten several dinner platter choices, all very nicely prepared for the $$$$.
Corner Cafe gives this gal just what she wants most…. The Corner Cafe has become one of my favorite places in Independence.They have a very good breakfast that is mostly served all day and I’ve had many tasty breakfasts there. But if it is lunch or dinner time, I am going to order their Chicken Livers Dinner. I always ‘think’ I’ll get something else next time but then I remember just how GOOD this full pound of deep fried chicken livers really are and I just can’t resist ordering them again! The dinner comes with a choice of two sides and a lovely big, yeasty dinner roll plus a bowl of creamy white milk gravy to use for dipping. The livers are crunchy breaded goodness on the outside and tender inside. It’s such a large platter full that most of the time I end up taking about half of them home for later.I know that Corner Cafe has many other delicious sounding items on their menu including several daily specials and they get raves on their baked goods including a massive cinnamon roll and some tasty sounding pies. I would sure like to try some of those things someday….if I can ever get over my obsession with the Chicken Livers dinner.
Love it….all. Great place. the meatloaf is so good. The homemade croutons and potato chips make the dishes they are served with…better. the deserts…… excellent. Friday is Lemon Meringue pie!! The portions are huge, the quality is excellent. You won’t be disappointed.
