Decent food, atrocious service. I ate here once at the recommendation of my wife. She grew up in Independence so I figured she knew what was good. I had high expectations but the Big Biscuit turned into the Big Letdown. Our waitress was exceptional at avoiding our table, at one point I actually timed how long I could watch her talk to people in the kitchen rather than come give us refills, at least fifteen minutes, and then again for our check, twenty minutes. It is ridiculous for breakfast at a diner to take more than an hour like this. The manager was just as good at avoiding interaction with the customers, preferring to sulk in the back. The food was forgettable compared to local breakfast places I’ve tried. If the staff can’t be bothered to care for customers, I can’t be bothered to go back.
If you visit Independence, forget the hotel breakfast and hit this place. Its a treat. Really good.
A gem of Resturant in Lee’s Summit in east KC just a short drive from Arrowhead and Kauffman Field. Classic home cooked breakfast. Get the gravy whether on the Jim’s platter or the Country Benadict ( think gravy and sausage) and you can’t go wrong!
Good Breakfast. Pay attention to what you order, read the descriptions. Great service for us always. Kitchen seems to mess up our order many times but we like it and will continue to go back. A chill place decent food at a fair price and their portions are huge. If you like biscuits and gravy go with the half order and even that is a big serving. We like it.
You get a lot of the $$$. I have had lunch here several times, it’s good and you get plenty of food for the price. I usually have the beef and mashed potatoes. It’s good and they get it out pretty fast,
It’s okay. Not sure where there is hype about this place. It’s an okay breakfast place. Has everything that everyone else does. Doesn’t really add anything or do anything special to it. The food was good but nothing wowed me.
