Beats the competition. I was a fan of Chipotle before I tried Costa Vida, but now with this place in town, I never visit Chipotle anymore. Not only do they have a great variety of flavors to mix and sample, but they have a child-pleasing menu. I do miss some of the features from when they first opened like the customizable Coke machines and the horchata (yes, I was actually a fan of horchata!) The staff there has always been helpful and the food has never disappointed. I often switch between grilled chicken tacos and sweet pork nachos with refried beans. The fresh food really lets those flavors shine through and the kids love watching them make the tortillas. And hey! Orange Leaf is right next door for desert!
We have always loved going here, really close to our house and fast in and out. However, I ran in to grab some dinner before my sons baseball game and will not go back for a while if ever. We were first in line and were there 20 minutes waiting on our food. They were out of steak, at 4:30 in the afternoon this is not understandable. After we stood there wondering why they were fixing everyone behind us food, we finally ask what the problem was and they said they were having to make more steak. If they would have told us that in the beginning, we would have chose something else . Anyway, finally after waiting forever, they made our food and let it sit there while I guess the manager, told the girl that was about to ring us up, to go answer the phone. So again we waited. We finally got home with our food to find out the steak wasn’t done at all, yuck! Also, noticed on our receipt that we were charged full price for our kids meal that should have been .99. They seemed unconcerned that they made us wait forever and didn’t even apologize. It will be a long time, if ever, we return. We will definately spread the word, not good.

LOVE IT. I LOVE this place, love their food, and I’ve always found that their employees truly do care about the customers and their experience. Love seeing them make the tortillas right in front of you as well.
I love this place! The flavored are so yummy. My favorite is the sweet pork salad. The cilantro dressing and mango dressing are delicious I always ask for extra. If you want something comforting get the nachos with sweet pork topped with cheese dip. Love it 🙂 Cool atmosphere with surf videos and water wall.
I thought this place was great! So much healthier than chipotle if you want or you can smother it in cheese. They then run it through a little cOoker to put it together and they have great desert tortilla rolls. Welcomed addition to Lees Summit!
Costa Vida is very much like Chipotle in that there is a little assembly line to make your food, then you take it and go sit down. Unlike Chipotle, the line moves very slowly. It took about 20 minutes to get through and there were only 4 people in front of me. They make their own tortillas which is good, and they grill their own steak. However, the food is underseasoned and rather bland. And who wants raspberry chicken? Ugh! I prefer to stick with Chipotle, a well-run operation with tastier food.
