I’ve been eating here for years. I love the catfish, beans and coleslaw. That being said. I’ve tried to sample other menu items. Tonight I paid $20 for what was described as 4 pieces of duck. In reality 4 pieces of duck were about the same as two average chicken legs. Not worth $20 in anyone’s budget. If you want catfish and beans it’s great. But, wouldn’t be tempted by any of the high priced items on their menu.
It had its ups and downs. We enjoyed the sides that come with your meal. The catfish was the best we have had! The service was nice but the decor left something to be desired. The carpet should go. And do something to update the feel of this location.
Wow. This was the worst meal I’ve had in quite some time. I’ve been driving this place for months wanting to stop in.The coleslaw, hushpuppies and beans were fine but the fish was awful! I took one bite and almost spit it out. My dinner companion, who has a huge appetite, tried covering his in tobasco but still couldn’t stomach even 1/4 of his fish. The top was cooked, the bottom was a stringy, gelatinous gray. All the stuffed, taxidermied animals and the dirty floors seemed to add to the need to get out as fast as we could. We paid our $40 tab and ended up eating fast food after our stomachs settled down. Never again.
Great Meal, decent price. I just left the place and I need a nap. The beans and coleslaw will fill you up, but you always want to get at least one piece of catfish. I will always go for the food at the Jumping Catfish
Friendly service, my glass stays full and the all you can eat crab legs never stop coming. Great place to bring the family on Sunday for a great meal.
Very enjoyable dinner. I have heard of this place but kept passing it up because I don’t care for catfish and my husband does not like fish and he is not much of a seafood eater. I talked him into trying it. We both left very satisfied. I had the build your own seafood combination. You get four choices and I went with the popcorn shrimp, butterfly shrimp, scallops and clams. My husband got the chicken fried steak. We both thought our dinner was delicious. They also bring you a large bowl of navy beans and ham which was delicious and tasted just like my moms. You also get a large bowl of delicious cole slaw and a basket of hush puppies. I am generally not a hush puppy fan, but these were good. Our waiter was very attentive. I also had two glasses of wine and our dinner was under $50. We will definitely go back.
Just had lunch today. Three of us had lunch here today. I had the blackened Cajun catfish, which was great. They bring white beans and ham and coleslaw to your table to share, which I like. The meal I ordered came with a baked potato w/ butter and sour cream instead of potato wedges or mashed. We all really enjoyed our meals and we agreed the fish was fresh, light and flakey. Really a good experience.
