Went here for lunch, great atmosphere and service. Waitress helped me choose a bubble drink because I’d never had one, I went with thai tea and was not disappointed. Had the calamari for an appetizer, perfectly crispy, and cooked not too chewy. Had the panang curry with pork and it too was cooked to perfection. The curry was silky smooth and sooooo delicious. I highly recommend this place!!
Mali Thai Bistro is a welcome addition to the SE side of town. In a strip center, unassuming on the outside and beautifully Thai on the inside; including the service staff who are dressed in their traditional Thai garb. The atmosphere sets the expectation high and we were not diappointed. We started with the Tiger Cry Beef and Calamari. The beef was saturated with flavor and tender. The spicy dipping sauce was a perfect complement but almost not necessary. The calamari was light and crispy with just the right amount of chew. For dinner, Green Curry with shrimp and Seafood Fried Rice. The menu allows for you to choose which meat you would like in most dishes and the spice level. I like spice so I really went for it and got exactly what I expected. I’ve eaten a lot of curries but this was my first try of green and the bar has now been set high; creamy and decedent with a hint of coconut and a touch of sweet that perfectly offsets the heat and crunchy bamboo shoots. The Seafood Fried Rice was packed with flavor and piled high with shrimp, squid, and scallops. If I had one complaint it would be that the scallops could have used a sear on them. The portions are a perfect (we did not finish it all) and at a $10-15 Mali is priced right. Dark, romantic setting and a full bar. Makes a great date destination but family friendly as well.
Had lunch there several times. Great staff, food and atmosphere. Great place! Dishes are a bit complicated and you can add spice to taste. Ask the staff they will help you with your decision.
