Amazing Quality and Pricing!. I’ve been eating at Pepperjax at Summing Crossings in Lee’s Summit, MO, quite regularly for a long while. I always order the rice bowls they have- it is the first thing you should try! I start out with steak and onion, which they brown up right in front of you and add seasoning to. Ask for plenty of extra rice if you don’t get beans (which I do not), add lettuce, and it is a rather simple masterpiece. My girlfriend and I joke that we are addicted to this place- and it is true. It is worth mentioning that their french fries are also wonderful- although the portion is rather small. This rice bowl is much more filling than your typical Chipoltle burrito, and tastes a lot fresher. I recommend this place to everyone I know, and simply cannot have enough. The expense is rather small: around $9 after tax for a steak rice bowl, and $11 with fries. I’ve tried their burritos as well, and they’re killer good, too!

Burnt Grill. Tasted Burnt because the grill was dirty. It taste great when the grill is clean. This is obviously a local management issue. It has happened to me several times. i walk in wanting Pepper Jack and look at the grill….If dirty and burnt looking I walk right back out and go to Chipotle next door.
This place is God awful! My original plan was to get Chipotle which is right next door, then I got a bright idea to try something new. Shame on me!! I ordered a chicken philly and I don’t have a clue what that meat is that they’re using. They just pulled it from who knows where and threw it on the grill for like 2 and cut it up into cubes. I don’t know about anyone else but I have never had cubed chicken on a philly!! And they took it from the grill so quickly that the veggies weren’t even grilled!! After seeing the way it was prepared I started to just leave but I went ahead and paid for it. Worst idea ever!! I wish all of my fingers were thumbs so I could give this place 10 thumbs down!! There isn’t one good thing I can say about it.
A Better Option now in Lee’s Summit!. I am pleasantly suprised at how great this place is! Options for vegetarians are a plus in my book and my meat eating husband was pleased at the double meat option. It is right next to chipotle, but a very different fare in my opinion. It is kind of like a philly steak any way you want it, sandwich, salad, wrap or bowl. I really enjoyed the sauce selection, I threw the creole on my veggie wrap and it was like gumbo in a burrito, so good. It was a very nice change of pace and a nice option now availiable in Lee’s Summit! Don’t change a thing!

Interesting that this restaurant opened right next door to Chipotle since they make burritos similar to the way Chipotle does. The sub sandwiches are the attraction here though. They use fresh meat that they cook to order and good bread and other ingredients. They will also make it very hot and spicy for you. Avoid the sauces though. They seem to be out of a mix and are not very good.
