Help, I’m hooked!. It’s time for a road trip to Lee’s Summit again. My craving for a taco dog and a nacho can no longer be denied! I’ve tried to squash the craving by having chili-cheese dogs closer to home, but nothing else comes close. The Taco Via’ taco dog just has an extra kick, extra heat, that other dogs can’t match! Add in a nacho, and it’s heaven in my mouth. A bite of taco dog, a bite of nacho … Mm-m-m-m!
Wow! I am a soldier originally from Lee’s Summit currently living out of state. I got off work and drove straight to LS from Kansas and stopped into Taco Via along the way. I placed my order and when the nice lady behind the counter gave my total I thought it must of been a mistake. I asked her if she undercharged me and she told me no I get a discount for being in the military. I didn’t ask how much the discount was, but it had to of been close to 50%. It’s nice to feel appreciated that much. Great food excellent price. I can’t say enough nice things about this place.
Glorified canned food. The food here tastes like it came out of a can. It is not worth the price that they charge for it… my nacho platter tasted like concession stand food. And they charge 25 to 50 cents for drink refills, of which ice takes up half of the cup. No thanks. Honestly, Taco Bell tastes better and is half the price.
Not good. Bad food, bad prices, ok service
WOW threatened with a gun. The first time I ate at Taco Via, the service was good, the food like bowling ally food, and its the only place I ever ate, that the manager threatened to put a loaded gun on the counter while I was there eating with my with and 2 little girls, the manager felt that my legally carrying of a firearm, was making her customers (were the only ones there) scared, of all my years carrying I have never had a CCW permit holder so ignorant as to tell me that, like this would prove she was better and had the upper hand, she even said if I tried to rob the place and draw my gun, she would have to pull hers and shoot me. Well that is very poor carry etiquette to talk that way, I was relaxed and calm and she was aggressive and threatening, the hole situation was handled very unprofessionally and Im all for business owners being armed but she needs more training, (a business can ask anyone to leave and I complied as I have had to do to a few places over the years, but this way, was uncalled for)
Disappointing. I know that these restaurants seem to enjoy a local almost cult following, in my opinion the food was pretty mediocre. The rice was bland, the beans had almost no character. My burrito was similar in character to something I would get at Taco Bell, but pricier.I’m not going to cry about the non-authenticity like other reviewers, as I kind of feel that you take what you get, but the lacking quality really makes the place suffer.I hope its just this specific restaurant and not the others around town.
