Super sweet and super cheap. Central Dairy is a no-frills, old-school ice cream place. A couple of notes:* About the sundaes: portions are very generous. My wife and I each got our own sundae, but regretted doing so. Two can easily share one. Also, they put a TON of syrup on each sundae. If you don’t like super sweet, I’d suggest avoiding their sundaes.* Be warned: this place can be packed! We drove by and decided to come back later because there was a sizable line way outside the door.Bottom line: With great prices, a good selection of flavors and options, and an old-school vibe, Central Dairy is a winner. Just plan on waiting in line for a bit.

I’m not a huge ice cream person, but Central Dairy is still a Jefferson City tradition. The ice cream is great, and there really isn’t anything negative any person can reasonably say about it.That having been said, if you’re feeling a healthy amount of self-loathing, try the Smoothies. This is not the type of smoothie that may be healthy for you– oh, no, this is a whipped cream-walnut-ice cream-fudge diabetic-coma-inducer. They layer these in a certain order with about an inch each. This would be fine, if not for the fudge. Eating through an inch of hot fudge to get to ice cream or walnuts is enough to make even the most cavity-ridden of sweet teeth recoil in horror. I can’t finish one. Still something to try, and that is a challenge.

Waited to long. My only regret is that I’ve lived near Jeff City all these years and have never been there until recently. The prices are amazing, and well Central Dairy ice cream is the best. But I got the white chocolate almond frozen yogurt on a cone. I swear i really thought they pulled a fast one on me, this doesnt taste at all like frozen yogurt, maybe more like a light ice cream.

Childhood Favorite. I remember begging to go there when I was younger every time we went shopping in Jefferson City. Now I’m nearly 21 and still beg to go there.
