Each time I eat here I am amazed at how much food I get for the low price I pay. The place steadily filled up with more customers as we ate our meal and yet the service still remained good. I definitely recommend this restaurant for your next Mexican meal.
We love Mexican food and having lived throughout north and central Missouri, we have tried a lot of different places. El Espolon ranks up there with the best of what we’ve had. The salsa is fantastic, entrees are very flavorful, staff is helpful and attentive, and the place is clean. The only two downsides are that the parking lot is horrible and the place can get very busy causing congestion in the entry way.
Poor poor poor. The service was poor and pathetic. I will never recommend anyone to eat here. The whole team (crew members, managers, owners) all stick together and see no wrong in their self. It got so heated that I had to call the police, because I was surrounded by their whole crew.
Worst salsa. Food mediocre but salsa tastes like bottled
A perennial favorite. If I don’t eat here often, I get withdrawals! Consistently good food and fast service. We eat here a lot partly because we enjoy the food, but partly because it is very family friendly. If you have kids, they can be loud (because it’s a loud place) and the servers are always great with children. The owners of this restaurant are nearly always on site, which says a lot about how it is run as well. I’d recommend the Burrito Supreme Steak, Popeye’s Chicken and the Pollo Cancun.
Arroz con pollo. A bit different from what I’ve had elsewhere, but good and very filling. they had a lot of vegetables (carrots, squash, and broccoli) between the chicken and the rice. do not order unless seriously hungry.06 Oct, 2011Steak burritos.
