Yum!. Love the menu. There’s not a bad thing on it. Next time I’m in town I’ll be back had the duck – perfect!
Great date night. If you’re looking for a classy, but not stuffy, place for dinner, this is your place. I honestly think that a lot of locals don’t even know this place is here. It isn’t too big and fills up quickly so reservations couldn’t hurt. It is clean and simply decorated, maybe to showcase the historic beauty of the building and to place your focus on the presentation of the food. The menu isn’t huge, but that’s okay. We had the hummus as an appetizer, and both of us ordered salmon as an entree. They have a decent wine list and good beer selection, although I must complain that there aren’t any draft beers available. I ordered a nice Malbec that I really enjoyed.Service was good, the server was knowledgeable and friendly. Grand Cafe is a great place for a good evening out.
Very nice bar keeper. Food was good, I had the ahi tuna salad. Was a little skimpy on the tuna, but the tuna was a good grade. Other party had a wrap and she said it was good, but a fresh made tortilla would have been better.
Food was amazing … Best so far since I moved here … Very clean and that was good to see compared to a number of other places I’ve tried here. The service was a bit slow and the room was really noisy … but hey … the food was great!
Undercover Gourmands Unite. Blending in with the other typical storefronts along the downtown thoroughfare is the atypical Grand Cafe that will be sure to surprise you. The interior is simple and classic, but nothing to stir suspicion that there just may be a good cook in the kitchen. The menu is the first clue that this is not the routine fare of just another bar. The sandwiches include well conceived variations like portobello mushrooms and fresh mozzarella with arugula and balsamic drizzle, applewood bacon with fresh tomatoes and a fine herb aioli, and a simple but savory three cheese griller with goat, cheddar and gruyere. Each come with fresh toasted breads and handmade dressings. The smoked salmon soup is very light and was a new found favorite for my wife. It has a rice and vegetable base, and is very healthful and different than one would expect. The burgers are substantial and come dressed with an array of veggies and can include avocado or select cheeses. The service is good, the atmosphere acceptable, and the selection of menu items for lunch and dinner, above average. It is worth some investigating by those seeking new mysteries in eating, as they may just find, that instead of the butler, it is the cook who did it. Pretty well, for that matter.
Had a lovely evening at The Grand Cafe, enjoying some smooth jazz and a GOURMET dinner! I had the potato encrusted salmon, which was tender, moist and flakey with a crispy potato crust and flavorful tomato sauce; along with asparagus cooked to perfection!! Yum!! Delicious brad with peppered olive oil, fresh salad… My husband had the bone- in ribeye, which was tender and juicy with roasted potatoes- DELISH!!!
Late Night Drinks. The only place in town that serves alcohol until 2am. AWESOME!
