I have been a fan of Applebee’s for the past 20 years. Unfortunately they have lost me. I have eaten there four times in the past few weeks, and it gets worse and even worse. Service was great one of 4 times. 25% does not cut it. Steak over cooked twice by a wide margin. Very in attentive service and that is being kind. I took my son there today for his birthday well after the lunch rush and the service was horrible. They serves my salad with my meal. I asked about that and they acted like that is the the way they so things and I was out of order for asking. When I spend 33.00 plus for lunch and I get that kind of food and service it is over. Good luck Applebee’s Joplin. My family certainly will not eat there again.
If you want quick car side, go elsewhere or plan accordingly. You can guarantee at least an additional 10 minutes longer than the time they gave you on the phone (because they don’t have online ordering capability). Then, if they get your order right, and your food is hot, count yourself lucky.
Late night Happy Hour, anyone?!. If you come to Applebee’s expecting 5-star cuisine, you should probably temper your expectations. That said, I work a lot of nights (managing a restaurant) and Applebee’s is one of the few restaurant/bars that has both a kitchen and a late-night Happy Hour menu. That gets a ‘like’ from me… although their TV/game-watching experience isn’t fantastic it is still pretty o.k. if you’re trying to keep an eye on the night’s sporting events.
Horrible service!. Waited 45 minutes and had not received our salad. Asked waiter (when we saw him again) what the problem was with our order. No explanation was given. I said I would pay for drinks, but that we were leaving. The manager followed us to the door trying to get us to take a coupon. We have received poor service and long waits at this restaurant before. Finally learned our lesson!
The smoke from the bar and smoking section are annoying. It really makes sitting in the non-smoking section unenjoyable because you still breathe it and smell like an ash tray when you leave.
