I love the food…. But the menu is overpriced. Recently, it has been… lacking. The chicken chunks shrunk, so purchasing 20 chicken chunks for the family isn’t as good of a deal as it used to. Last time we went, the rolls were over-cooked and inedible. Usually it’s delicious, but I have been recently displeased. I hope that this changes.

CHARLIE’S CHICKEN BIG MISTAKE!. It has been about a year since the last time I was at Charlies Chicken. The food was not up to their usual high standards to say the least. (This use to be the best fast food place in Joplin…..use to be!) I should have let that last time be the last time. Stopped there tonight for a 3 piece chunk dinner (fried okra and broccoli grape salad.) I sat waiting at the speaker for 5 minutes by my watch, for the girl to take my order. When I got my food I started eating before I cleared the drive way. The chicken chunks were cold and soggy, the okra was cold and soggy, the broccoli grape salad had very little dressing on it and the taste was non existent. NO FLAVOR!!!! The roll was cold too. NEVER going back again…….Sadly they have slipped from top notch to bottom rung!
Always wanted to try the one at home down in Fayetteville but never found the opportunity to. This past weekend we went up to help out in Joplin & had to find a good spot for lunch so got my chance to give Charlie a try (say that 10x fast). Anyway, I thought the food was real good, seasoned well and priced well also. Definitely going to stop off at the Fayetteville location now that I know how good theyre chicken fried chicken & gravy is.
