I really enjoy eating (and drinking) at Tropicana. While I can agree with some of the other posts that sometime they are a bit slow, it wont stop me from eating here. The burgers are pretty good with an array of toppings, tasty sandwiches and appetizers. I can’t complain about the beer selection as I am easy to please. One of my favorite things they brought back (from the original building) was shuffleboard. It is so much fun to go with friends and play. Also, the outdoor lounge seating is great for conversation.
We ate there today and it was fantastic!! One of the best burgers in town! Homemade chips and fries…..so good! Service was excellent too! We will definitely be going back!
Dining alone and Waited waaaayy too long for food (50mins) on a Saturday at 2pm. Service is mediocre. Food is slow. The beer selection is not worth it!
Enjoy a Beer and Popcorn… on your Salad!. Have been enjoying going here for lunch. The new atmosphere/building is amazing! The Tropicana has really stepped it up! the beer selection is much better, and the menu is great. The salad choices are creative, popcorn as a garnish on one! The burgers are delicious, as are the fish and chips! This pub food is gratifying and the service is excellent.
This place has an interesting beer selection including alcoholic root beer. The food menu is pretty standard, the only interesting thing being the homemade chips. Strange decor and feel in the atmosphere. In this new building there is a very lame nautical decor, but it doesn’t seem right nor does it really encompass what you think when you hear the name Tropicana. Historically this was a semi sleazy bar. It still clings to those roots a little with an incongruent atmosphere
Very Disappointed and Felt Cheated. Months of build up with promises of fresh new fare and unique, creative as well as favorite vintage drinks. Well, the kitchen and bar staff didn’t have an inkling how to make anything other than same-ole same-ole beer and margaritas, and the food was all fried and tasted just the same. When we ordered some very ordinary ‘cocktails’ we were gawked at like we were idiots. They didn’t want to get creative and just have no desire to rise above the ordinary.17 Jan, 2015Very Disappointed. We had heard that the new Tropicana was billing itself as the ‘place in town for vintage and traditional cocktails and a special, creative drink menu all their own’. Looking forward to a place that knew how to serve more that beer and margaritas, we met for cocktails and dinner. The bartender had NO idea how to make a ‘Zombie’, had NO idea how to make a ‘Painkiller’, did not have the ingredients for a mojito and several other cocktails that we inquired about. The beer we finally settled on was ‘skunky’, and our first two selections they were out of. The food, when it came seemed to be all deep fried and tasted the same. This place could have been so special and unique and yet they have limited their potential with a bar staff and kitchen either unwilling or incapable of fulfilling the promises made in the ‘build-up’ to the grand opening.
Great!. Great people ~ Great place ~ Beer is Good!!!
