Went in. Stood at the front in which seems like forever. .. never greeted nor acknowledged- place was NOT busy. I left. It was very rude and TERRIBLE. DON’T GO. Wasted my time waiting for NOTHING literally.
Pricy for quantity. Went there for lunch and got a Family Style tofu – vegetarian. Asked the server to give more veggies/tofu instead of the mushrooms/meat and no egg drop soup. When the dish came out, got plenty of mushrooms and overall very little quantity-literally a kid-size meal. Prefer going to Malay Cafe for lunch where the food is tastier, best service, and always get more than I can eat for half the price.
Suburban Chinese. Bo Lings at Zona Rosa fits right in with the suburban, Missouri valley girl set. I asked for a dim sum menu; they don’t serve dim sum at this location. Neither do they offer chopsticks to diners. You have to ask for them. And the interior is only vaguely Asian in appearance. So dining here isn’t exactly emersing oneself in Asian culture. All of that said, the food is very good. Likewise the service we experienced was very prompt. The curry vegetables I had for lunch were excellent. The curry sauce had just the right mix of pungency and spice to be very flavorful without causing eyes to water. The vegetables tasted fresh, were perfectly tender and the portion size was generous. Once I obtained my chopsticks I was quite happy.
Fresh and Clean. I have always had a good experience with Bo Ling’s, and we eat there or carry out at least once a month. It is the only place we go for Chinese, because they use fresh ingredients and avoid MSG. Admittedly, the fried rice is not the most flavorful–but I gladly trade that to not have a MSG hangover the next day.I have tried many items from the menu: curry vegetables, general’s chicken (too much meat, I ask for extra broccoli), lo mein, vietnamese spring rolls, and like them all. My favorite, chicken and vegetables, is not on the menu any more but they make it on request.
Meh-. This wasn’t the worst chinese I have had, but not the best either. I was very hungry and was looking forward to it, but was disappointed in the vegetarian selections. I err on the side of Chinese when eating with a non-vegetarian because we typically can both find a good option, but they really didn’t have many appealing options for a vegetarian as far as entrees. I got the pineapple fried rice, which was very good but didn’t have alot of pineapple in it. I filled my hunger need, but I wasn’t impressed. .
I haven’t had worse PadThai. I took my daughter for lunch (she’s 3). She wanted General’s Chicken. It was ok…she at most of it. The portions were rather small. I ordered – and was really excited to consume – Pad Thai. I’ve had Pad Thai from several locations, but this was by far the worse. The noodles were saturated in a tomato based sauce…I thought this was Asian food, not Italian. It was so bad that I ate just a few bites. To add add insult to injury, it charged me for dinner plate instead of the lunch special. It cost me over $30 for me and a 3 year-old for lunch. Needless to say, I won’t be going back!
Great chinese. Probably the best weve tried in the Northland for Chinese. A little more pricey than some, but well worth the money. Always good food and friendlly staff. Our choice for a great dinner in the Zona Rosa area.
