My new go-to!. Having just returned from a trip to Vietnam I was looking for a restaurant to satisfy my cravings. The first time I went I had the Bun and it was amazing! Not exactly the same as what I had in Vietnam but it was so delicious and had the authentic flavor I wanted. I have been back a few times since and have never been disappointed! The food is always amazing, the staff nice and accommodating, and the restaurant itself isn’t fancy but really nice and clean. I love it definitely give it a shot if you love vietnamese!

Wonderful Experience. Cafe Ha Tien is a very quaint and inviting place to eat. Very nice staff and accommodating to my picky eating habits. My boyfriend and I went about two weeks ago and we each tried an appetizer and an entree and the meal was less than $30, very reasonably priced and tasty. I had never had Vietnamese before this visit, and after trying their meals, I don t understand why I hadn t tried it sooner. It was very good!!!

It’s good to have a Vietnamese restaurant in south kc. I’ve visited this place 6 times and probably won’t come back. The service is lousy, the waiters aren’t really trained and don’t have a clue about the menu. The pho list is limited and although the broth is good they are very chinsy with the beef. You’ll get like 4 slivers of the rare beef and the meatballs are sliced, It’s like there’s a beef shortage. And I’ve had to ask for extra noodles cause they give you about as much as you would get in a pack of top ramen and its an $8+ bowl of soup. Mostly the food is good but the VERY BAD service makes dining there more of a disappointment. If you can make the drive, go to Pho KC or Pho Hoa the soups are better and you get more meat.

Very Fresh. We tried two dishes and one appetizer on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were extremely friendly and quick to help. You could tell they liked working there. The food was very good – exceptionally fresh. As mentioned in another review – the food is not particularly spicy or salty, but very fresh with good flavor. Some who are use to Thai food or spicy Chinese food may find the flavors a little boring, but they were tasty. I added seasoning provided on the table to adjust the flavor exactly to my liking.

My sister and I were excited to try Cafe Ha Tien and we were happy to discover it was a new treasure in South Kansas City’s awesome ethnic restaurant choices. The food was delicious and fresh. The marinated Cornish hen is flavorful and the meat is tender. The number 13 also comes with a fried egg and veggies. We also enjoyed the egg roll vermicelli, a savory noodle dish with crispy pork egg rolls and crushed peanuts. Although one review claims the food lacked flavor, I would disagree. Vietnamese food is the least spicy foods of Thai, Indian, and other Asian countries. We liked the orange sauce that came with the dishes and when we wanted more spice we added Sriracha. Give the restaurant a chance and don’t let other reviews hinder you from trying it. We decided to make up our mind and we were so happy we did:)
