VERY Disappointing. Went after work to get luncheon specials TO-GO. Later when we ate, my first thought was it was awfully SKIMPY take-out, compared to other places. The luncheon egg rolls size about 30% smaller than a regular order egg roll. Pretty small portion entree, too. I got full order of Moo Shu Pork. The Moo Shu,- couldn’t tell about pork or vegetables because it was nothing but HOSIN sauce. Heavy, sickening sweet, overpowering GLOPPY MESS….. Hosin should be on THE SIDE!!!!!!!!!!! But instead THAT was seemed to be the sauce that it was served in. It was inedible and I threw ENTIIRE MESS away (hope at least a raccoon could eat, it) Horrible waste of food!! WORST MU SHU EVER! Why would they drown it in hosin? Have had Moo Shu all over the metro and have never had it prepared that way. I still had containers from other take-out place so I wanted to see if it was my imagination or if their portions were smaller than anywhere else. After measuring, (I Compared both to-go lunch-sized and full-portioned containers I had from other places). For similar prices, China Express served around 20- 40 % LESS food for the buck than any other place I tried. Might be okay for buffet, but don’t get take out! AND DO NOT GET MOO SHU! Am sure owners and workers are good had-working people and I hate to be so critical but dang….. just don’t know what else to say but disappointing.

I told her that they had delivered to me before and she was very rude and told me they wouldn’t deliver. If she had been more polite I would’ve ordered it to go and picked it up. They’ve lost my business

Makes me crave Chinese!. I’ve been eating here for years! This is in my opinion, the best Chinese you can get North of the River. The fried rice is amazing, great grab rangoon and my personal fave is the Springfield Cashew Chicken! Really haven’t had anything here I don’t like. The lunch buffet is a great deal and also very good. Only place I’ll get Chinese from up North. Also, the man that always serves us is always happy and friendly. He’s been there a long time.
We just discovered China Express a couple of weeks ago. Very small lunch buffet but everythig is fresh and delicious. The staff is helpful and friendly. We’ll be there at least once a week!
Love this Mom and Pop place. This place is not fancy or huge, but the family that runs it is amazing! Always smiling, they remember us when we come in. Ask how we are, the whole 9 yards. The food is always good, fresh and for a great price. When we do a to go order, wow so much food, its always two meals. Great value, Great food. We love it.
Best schezuan beef, moo goo gai pan, spring rolls and hot & sour soup in KC.. Their spring rolls are amazing (mushrooms ftw!), and their hot and sour soup is just the right thickness and acidity. I alternate between getting moo goo gai pan and schezuan beef, because both dishes are executed perfectly. They also have a wonderful curry chicken dish with lots of onions, so if that’s your thing, I highly recommend it.I don’t recommend the buffet, but that pretty much goes without saying. I also don’t recommend the buffet at Old Country Buffet, Hometown Buffet, Shoney’s, Ryan’s, Ponderosa, Golden Corral, or Sweet Tomatoes.
