It is the BOMB. I GOT ORANGE ROUGHY. Everything was great portions great. Spaghetti great.green beans great. Sharon was very pleasant. Wayyyy better then mad jacks on troost.
For the Money, 4-1/2 Stars!. Was taken there by a friend. The lady at the counter overheard me say it was my first time. Before I knew it, a sampling of 2 pieces of fresh Basa slid across the counter. I was treated to the most moist, tender and perfectly cooked fish with a great balance of seasoning. Now, I have to agree with the previous poster about the tartar sauce. Not a tough condiment to make and cheap enough to buy in bulk, they should abandon the packets that simply aren’t good.The sample had me sold on the Basa. My friend ordered talapia. We shared fish and I found the talapia to be as well prepared as my choice. Having been a chef in a fish house in Chicago, I know good fish from bad. These people know what they’re doing. It’s fresh, cooked to perfection and as far as seasonings go – not sure what they put in it, but it leaves a buttery after-note on the pallet that is pleasing.This is a no-frills joint, but I found it to be fairly priced. The staff was simply warm and generous and the cook seemed a bit surprised when I asked to speak with him and thanked him for doing it so well. 5 stars on the service, the attitude of the staff and the generosity of spirit. Learn to make a simple tartar sauce and you earn the last 1/2 star.
GOOD… BUT UNFORTUNATE? I really enjoy this South KC Fish find! I think my frustration is with the condiments. I was given ONE package of tarter sauce for 6 nicely portioned pieces of fish. I was told it would be 0.25 for another 12g packet of sauce. Really!!!! Please take some price bids from other distributors of the UNIPRO brand of tarter sauce. I did price a case of tarter sauce at Sams Club for about $23(200ct -3/4oz). Your price point on you fish is about average and should cover one of these nice sized cups from Sam’s Club. If not two packets really should be standard.
Won’t be back…. I’m not sure why there are so many great reviews on here because I wasn’t impressed at all. I went for the first time tonight and ordered the catfish – way too heavy on the seasoning (tasted just ok) and i got one little packet of tarter sauce….i went back in and asked for more so he handed me one more little packet. i guess they are too cheap to give you enough sauce for an entire order ???? Anyway, I won’t be back – I can get more flavor and food for less money at Captain D’s or Long John Silvers 🙂
Horrible..i ordered cat fillet and mac and cheese, ive never known cat filets to b strips, and the mac and cheese, where is the cheese?!! Over 20 bucks wasted times r too hard so when I called back she told me that the filets were filets at first but cut into strips, so call them strips then,if I wanted strips thats what I would have asked for..deeply disappointed..where’s the cheese!
Very good fried fish. Basa is delicious. Menu is great value. catfish, tilapia, basa, orange roughy and more. Sides are well portioned.
This place is Amazing!!!!!! We will most defiantly be back!!!! Don’t forget to try the fried pi Klee and corn nuggets!!!!
