Took my girlfriend there for the special on the steak shrimp. As we were sat down the waitress told us that there was no more shrimp and on this Sunday and then the special was going to be over Wednesday anyways. So we asked if they could substitute another shrimp or something since I did advertise the special and that’s the whole reason that we were there. Then the waitress snapped back with because we only have that kind of shrimp with that meal. At that time my girlfriend and I already decided that we were going to eat somewhere else so we went over to the HyVee and had a fantastic meal for half of what we would have spent there. We had steak and all you can eat crab legs
Used to be a favorite…. We have frequented this Outback for the past 15 years. It was once a favorite that we visited weekly, even more than that at times, but in the past 5 years we’ve noticed that the menu prices continue to creep up and up and up, the portions get smaller (which is fine, but not if you keep increasing the price!) and the quality of both food and service has noticeably declined. For a family of three, the bill is now exceeding $60 (and that is without any soft drinks or bar beverages) for a child entree and two adults with one appetizer. It’s just not worth it and I can visit Hy-Vee down the road to get a better cut of meat and tasty baked potato side, salad, dessert for my family for half that. I would now consider it a place for special occasion meals, but I think the service – waitstaff and kitchen (which truly depends upon the staff members of the evening) – needs some practice and improvement.
Good Food. Love their steaks but the menu in general is grossly overpriced. They need to offer some really good specials and I would go much more often. Usually, we end up going to 54th Street Grill. Better bang for your buck!!
