My boyfriend and I have visited Piropos about twice a year for the last 3 years. Exceptional food, exceptional service and lots of tasty drinks. On our anniversary 2 years ago we even got to meet the owner. She even took a picture of us during our dinner! They’re always willing to go the extra mile to make your visit a little sweeter.
Steaks are disappointing for the price…. The view of downtown Kansas City looking south across the Missouri River was great. The desserts (banana cake, bread pudding, and fresh berries) were all fantastic. The appetizers (Brie and three empanadas were more than $20 and not worth the price. The steaks (ribeye and the peppered fillet in the brandy sauce) were both only mediocre. The ribeye was tough; the peppered brandy fillet was not a center cut fillet. The service was very good. The prices were too high for the quality of the appetizers and steaks served. I would go for the view and the desserts but probably wouldn’t order an entree again; the appetizers were okay but overpriced and the entrees were an all around big disappointment. My bill for the two of us before tip was $150.
Great place.. I have gone here twice with my girlfriend for her birthday, and each time, we have enjoyed the experience with the pleasant staff, the view of the city from the windows, and the fantastic food. If you have never visited Piropos, GO! :~)
Great food. Fantastic food, fantastic service from very knowledgeable server. Went 45 minutes before our reservation to have a cocktail first. We went to the piano bar first about 5 minutes after it opened. I think we interrupted her eating and she was very rude to us. No problem, we just went to the lounge upstairs and were greeted by very friendly staff!
2 empanadas + a glass of wine = great date for only $16 each. We love the upstairs lounge.
