Either lower the price or give up some more food. New restaurant in zona, maybe need to work out kinks. Service was great, attentive personnel. But at $29.95, the hot pot left me scratching my head. I ordered the seafood combo, and for that price I thought I’d get a lot more. Two pieces each of salmon, squid, mussels, four shrimp, and mostly fishball, which are really inexpensive. Come on guys, you’re just starting out, don’t lose business by trying to gouge customers.
Firefly. If you never had a hotpot experience, perhaps you don’t have much expectations. The amount of veggies that came with the meal was scant…2 pieces of tofu, 2 pieces of mushroom, a few sliver of bokchoy, and a tiny corn on the cob. Mind you, this hotpot is suppose to be for TWO persons????!!!! Im almost ambarrasseed to say its an asian dish because hotpot is all about putting in enough ingredients to fill your belly, not two bite size of everything. We had the seafood platter, which had about 2 to 3 bites of fish, a few shrimp, several mini scallops, 3 mussels, 3 slivers of squid….on top of already overpriced pot of broth, we were charged extra for kimchi flavoring and a small tiny bowl of rice noodles. The portion seems more for 1 person who does not have a big apetite. Definitely will not try again. Its too bad they can’t mirror the authentic hotpot that groups of friends get together to enjoy with plenty of veggies and meat to fill your belly. We felt like having a burger after we finished our hotpot
My wife and I just ate at this wonderful new restaurant and we were very impressed. We had a hotpot with beef and pork in a couple different broths. It came with veggies, dipping sauces, and seasonings. The hotpot is treated like a fondue and everything is cooked in it. All I can say is it was great! The broth is made in house daily and works well as a soup base for the meat and veggies. Along with the hotpot we also had a couple other delicious dishes and included dessert (mochi!). The service is attentive, atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the owner was very friendly. It’s refreshing to see a new concept for a restaurant in KC. I will definitely be back….many times!
Q Hot Pot just opened and they are still working out some minor kinks, but the food is delicious and the service couldn’t be friendlier! The interior is cheerful and modern. I thought it was a fantastic spot for a date-night with my husband! The hot pot was so tasty — the chicken broth is marvelous — and we also enjoyed our enormous plate of crab Rangoon and the lettuce wraps. The owners are delightful and we wish them the best of success!!
